those that dont pay fed income taxes are paying a higher percentage of payroll and sales taxes. so are you just talking about federal income taxes? if so why? and is your 50% figure accurate? is this in reference to that nonsensical stat about the top 10% paying 80% or some $hit? i think even fewer should pay. the elderly should pay nothing or next to nothing on their "income". their retirement funds got killed and property taxes are gutting them.
