My favorite---Captain Easy--- How many know who I'm talking about? Damn good athelete---damn good person--- Probably loved LSU more than anyone I ever knew. Most feared?????? Ro---It just seemed like that even on a good clean lick that should have broken his leg----he limped back to the huddle, called the play and limped for ten more yards.

Captain Easy = Billy Ezell; backed up Pat Screen in '65-66. Billy started a lot of games because Screen was injury prone and was hurt a big part of his career. Better runner than Screen, not as good a passer as Screen. Those guys played with Don Schwab and Joe Labruzzo, Doug Moreau. great heart!

My top choice of QB goes to Bert Jones. He did pretty good in the pros also with the Baltimore Colts, got them to the playoffs.

#2 = Tommy Hodson. Good arm, GUTS. One game, he got hit and cut his tongue. Had his tongue stitched and came back and played. His sr. season was not his best; I wondered why. Then I saw how good Wendell Davis was doing with the Chicago Bears, and I knew why Tommy's production may have fallen off. Tommy was drafted, hung with the NFL a couple of years, got a chance to start, didn't work out for him. (I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it now).

#3 RO! Big arm, guts, played while hobbling around (Tennessee his Jr. year), still throwing big passes and winning games. Really helped his team to victory, I don't think they would have done it without his talent and willingness to go for it.

    that was the Kentucky game.

yeah drafted by the Pats 3rd rd? when they were absolutely horrible. Played for the Dolphins with Jimmy Johnson i think, then dallas then the Aints. about a year per team after he left NE.

couldnt have had a much worse draw than that.

  4. Definitely Ro! He had the best instincts for the game that I've ever seen and a big arm too. I'm definitely a Herb fan as well. The Herb play that sticks out in my mind the most is his juking into the endzone at Auburn. He made like 3 or 4 guys miss.

BERT F'IN JONES! I feel sorry for you youngsters who didn't get to see him play! Back then, they only got three years to play, and a couple of his were wasted in a two QB system. Also, LSU's offense didn't take advantage of his abilities. Talk about a bazooka for an arm! He could throw the football from endzone to endzone!

#2 = T. Hodson - No doubt, he would have won the National Championship if he had been the QB of the 2003 team.

#3 = tie between about five others...

Top two "shoulda been" LSU QBs: Terry Bradshaw and Major Applewhite...
