I remember Warren Rabb because of the NC but Y.A. Tittle (at LSU) was before my time. I do remember him as the NY Giants QB. I really liked Hodson and Mauck, but the question was your favorite QB and I just liked Rohan's competitiveness.
Herb Tyler is special to me because he captained our team after that horrible stretch of six losing seasons. He was similar in athletic ability to Marcus Randall, but Herb was so cool under pressure...
Luzzanne Quarterbacks Well, you have already named some of the famous and recent ones so why don't I name some of your average LSU quarterbacks, from say the 70s or 80s.... as in..(spelling?).. Jeff Wickershan or Nelson Stokely or David Woodley or Alan Reischer or Steve Ensminger - they would have torn up Auburn last Sat. just like they tore up the SEC. The present LSU offensive quarterback recruiting staff have not come up with anyone until JMR (M. Mauk came to Baton Rouge with N. Saban and I'm told could have been a free Saftey), I am also told that no one else offered MR a scholarship. Meanwhile JMR will do well and I believe LSU will beat Georgia, Florida I do not know yet but very few teams will be able to score many points on LSU this year. We are looking for Matt Flynn to play a whole quarter this Sat. as JMR will need a backup sometime if he doesn't take his salt tablets!!
Jamie Howard :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: (ducking to avoid flying fruit, vegetables, bricks, shoes, etc.). No, but seriously folks... For me it would have to be a toss-up between Tom Hodson and Rohan Davey, w/ Rohan getting a slight edge because he's fresher in my memory.
That was Warren Rabb? I remember meeting in the auditorium to hear the pitch but I didn't connect those dots.
Wickersham was the first quarterback I ever saw in a tiger uniform, so he has always been one of my favorites. My all time favorite is Ro with Herb as a close second. Flynn is 3rd and no disrespect to Hodson but he is 4th. Howard and Booty are at the bottom locked in a heated battle for second to last.
Bert Jones. If he had played in a passing offense, and didn't have to split snaps with the forgettable Paul Lyons, would have been the all-time SEC passing leader... ...wasn't Lyons' dad some big oil company bigwig that kicked down some major $$$ to his alma mater, LSU???? As I recall, he was from Midland, TX, which is big time oil country...
