I really dont see if as a possibility... If the SEC were left out again you could possibly see the first BCS conference pull out of the BCS... I think most voters will have the "its the SEC's turn" attitude should last year's situation repeat itself..
Yes, ProudTiger - of course we'd be pissed. Luckily, we have a national championship from not so long ago to give us comfort. Also, I think there's less of a chance that LSU gets left out this year than Auburn last year. Last year's Auburn was a team that had big expectations the year before and had a big let down. That hurts the analysts pride & they weren't exactly ready to put you high again even once you won all your games. Add on to that the Oklahoma vs USC game that everyone wanted to see & you've got Auburn left out. This year's LSU is a team that most every publication is recognizing as having some of the best talent in the country & our games will be closely watched to see what Miles & JaMarcus can do. We split a national championship with USC 2 years ago & if USC goes undefeated again, people will want to see this settled on the field for one true national champion between LSU & USC in 05.
I agree with you and hope you are right. But I was just asking what your reaction would be if the possible scenario I suggested were to happen. Then LSU would be in the same boat Auburn was last year and the shoe would be on the other foot. The wailing from BR would be enormous wouldn't it?
3 major undefeated teams WILL NOT happen often! I KEEP saying it! If we are undefeated... I like our chances...
LSU plays five ranked teams this season. If we win all five, it will surely get some attention. How many ranked teams do the other contenders play? Tennessee has a pretty rough schedule. But Southern Cal sure as hell doesn't!
Ohio States's schedule is very respectable. It's not likely they will go undefeated in the Big 10 but it could happen. If not them then Michigan. The Rose Bowl could well go for the "traditional" Big 10-PAC 10 matchup. I'm not arguing it would happen at all, just noting you could find yourselves in the same situation Auburn was last year.
