I'm not here to defend the Ole Miss fans, but my experience was no different than I had experienced in other away game venues. Before the game there were back and forth ranting from both sides, Tiger bait from LSU fans, and Go to Hell LSU from Rebel fans along with the middle finger of most, but I think this adds to the heated rivalry of time long ago when this game was the one game on the schedule that everyone pointed to as a must win for both schools. I also am willing to accept in this day and time that there are idiots that wear many different colors, and we as true fans of LSU have to wear our Purple and Gold proud and respect the colors of other fans who wear there colors with pride and reverence, and not let the actions of a few spoil the overall experience of a great football game.
I live 20 minutes from Oxford and the hype around here was ridicualous. I wear my LSU hat everyday and a week and a half before the game the Bs started. I know some of the fans at Ole Miss can be very rude but most of the people I know are pretty decent. I would not tolerate bad conduct on either side. I would report it. I don't go to any Ole Miss Games and some friends of mine offer tickets every week. I don't care to go see them, I'm just not interested in the Rebel football program. I'd have to sit in the Ole Miss section and that wouldn't exactly suit me anyway. Report all acts of unsavory conduct and maybe the whole SEC will benifit. As for that girl saying Cobb is gonna run 300 yards on our Blanking blanks, well she is really clueless. I think it will be closer to 300 inches. Wishful, poor loser thinking on her fault. Can YOU smell it? In BR town? Friday ( Mike the Tiger ) mmmmm I smell BACON FRYING! JS
I found the Ole Miss fans to be fairly good sports, considering we came to their town, drank their beer, and embarassed their star. We were cussed, called inbred coonasses, and almost got into a fight. Still, what would SEC football be without rivalry? Ole Miss played like champions and we withstood their best efforts. I'll be in Oxford in 2005, wearing my purple and gold, screaming GEAUX TIGERS!!!! And what was up with the way the females were dressed? 3 inch heels and lingere for shirts? I'm a female tiger fan and love to get dolled up as much as the next girl. But I wore jeans and sneakers to the game, and hollered at the top of my lungs with my fellow guy fans from Baton Rouge. And I looked better in my jeans and tee than all those high heel wearing, over-made up rebel chics!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!
We had a pretty heatly mix of both asshole and good fans walk but us. We were by the www.tailgating.com rv, just sitting in cars with the ice chest radio blowing out the grove with the sweet sounds of the Golden Band from Tigerland. Of course we would jar with some of the Ole Miss fans but it never got bad. I would like to express this disappointment though, right next to use there was this little tree. Big enough for kids to climb on though, and climb they did. These little bastards were sitting perched on the branchs like vultures waiting to pounce on an LSU fan that walked by. And boy did they pounce I have never heard so many curse words come outta of the mouths of childeren since the SOUTHPARK Movie. They yelled at everyone I even heard them call a group of female LSU fans " a bunch of whores". And this just wasn't little boys, little girls were getting into the name calling. Makes you wonder what in the hell they got in the water up there!!! But other then that we had a good time, I was on crutches so it was hard for me to get around but most people either held the door open for me at the student union or moved aside to aloow me plenty of room to pass as I walked by, also patting me on the back for showing that much team spirit to make the trip with a broken leg with no tickets! I say most cause there was one asshole that tried to kick my crutch out from under me while I was walking to the student union to use the latreine. That bastard is lucky he ran away and that I was able to keep my balance! On a side note: DAMN I'M HUNGERY FOR SOME HAM SANDWICHES! Thats right I said it, it needed to be said...............GUEAX TIGERS
