Re: Miles Dismisses 3 Players Bad timing for Anderson. Getting caught up in an unpremeditated bar fight usually rates a 3-game suspension. People who commmit burglaries always get tossed.

Re: Miles Dismisses 3 Players I agree that coaches should help players realize mistakes and try to instill good character. But some things are just not acceptable, like theft. And these players are old enough to understand that if they cross certain lines, they forfeit the privledge of playing for LSU. I hope all the players learn from this, and I hope the team benefits from it as a whole. There's almost nothing that irks me more than athletic programs that look the other way in regards to bad behavior just so they can win. I am so glad that LSU had higher standards than that.
Re: Miles Dismisses 3 Players My hats off to Coach Miles for displaying some guts. I think he earned a lot of respect around the league for this action. If all coaches would take a hardline like this some of the crap going on would greatly decrease. JMHO.

Re: Miles Dismisses 3 Players A coach cannot wait for a conviction. That could take a long time. Presumption of innocence applies to the criminal justice system; not to the university which is not required to wait for a conviction. The university conducts its own investigation and makes a determination based on that.
