It seems like Les would wait until there was a conviction. Presumption of innocence and all that. They jumped the gun with the Duke players, you know.
  2. Re: Miles Dismisses 3 Players

He waited to get all the facts, and heard the stories from all parties. Thomas & Giddens admitted guilt.
  3. Re: Miles Dismisses 3 Players

exactly on both counts. and message to recruits parents, you sons will be playing at a university where honor and conduct mean something, unlike some other universities!

I can't say that I have a problem with these guys being kicked off the team, but I think that it is partly the responsibility of the coaches to help these guys realize their mistakes and try to develope good character. You cannot do that by kicking them off the team. None of them were repeat offenders, as far as any of us know, so I wonder if there wasn't a better way to handle it from a developemental train of thought.

I think the talent level of the players involved probably played a huge role in this decision.

Still though it is good to know that Miles is concerned with the university on a level other than winning football games.

I have to give your coach and your program for doing the right thing here. Too many other big time programs, ie USC and Ohio State, are more than willing to look the other way and allow players to continue to play. Better to nip in the bud, before it gets out of control.

Our coach has more character than your coach !

"O" the crotch..errr..I mean coach, might be able to pick up a couple of transfers.

:thumb: to Les for doing the right thing in my book.

We aren't IDIOTS bitter........that's not a compliment to LSU, it's a swipe at the team that spanks that domer azz year in and year out. :hihi:

I'm not quite sure why bitter couldn't just leave it alone after his first sentence.

Bottom line, Les Miles did exactly what everyone expected he would do. There have been some comments made in the past about his coaching abilities (made mostly on this forum), but never has anyone questioned his character and integrity. I think he did the right thing by giving the situations time, and I assume giving the players a chance to explain, but in the end made the right choice. He made the right decision for both his program, and in my opinion the right decision for the players involved.

Ahh, that's just bitter and his passive aggressiveness.

As far as the dismissals, it hurts now but could hurt a lot more in the long run had he not done so. Hope it serves as a deterrent.
