Re: How do you honestly feel about JR? You talking about trying to run the ball vs Tennessee last year instead of throwing it out of bounds stopping the clock so we could kick a field goal. That three points would have been the difference in a win instead of a loss. Or are you talking about taking the sack in the Auburn game this year that cost us another chance for a win? Our running game is second in the SEC. Our passing game is second in the SEC. Our offense is first in the SEC. JR has been sacked very few times. It would have been less if he would throw the ball away. Miami's defense was rated higer than any SEC team this year except LSU's. Miami had nine players drafted and all made NFL rosters. LSU with Flynn was not competing with a team made up of second rate players. Eight straight scoring drives is still in the record books.
Re: How do you honestly feel about JR? I agree, but if he reads this board, why in in the world would he want to return?
Re: How do you honestly feel about JR? Guess you didn't watch the game Saturday? Last series, down on the goal line. He threw in the stands.
Re: How do you honestly feel about JR? Exatamendo! I remember thinking that was an improvement from the Auburn game when he did it. :thumb:
Re: How do you honestly feel about JR? Yeah whoever thinks JR has been hitting the WRs on the run the past 3 games must only be watching half the time. Because there were a bunch Saturday that were not on the run.
Re: How do you honestly feel about JR? Even though Im not big on JR, I HONESTLY feel he is the best QB for LSU at this time. What I don't like about him is his mental breakdowns in big games. Makes too many mistakes. One of which he doesn't know when to throw the lob pass and when he does it is thrown too late. For example, in the first half, he threw a deep lob to Early that he dropped. Watching the replay, Early made a great move on the db and have about 5 yds. cushion but had to stop to wait for the ball and he then dropped it cuz he heard footsteps. Don't get me wrong, Early SHOULD have caught that. But if JR would have thrown it sooner or just drilled it, it would have been a TD. And this happens often. But like I've said, if he corrects his mistakes, LSU is unbeatable. That's why I think he should stay another year and work on it. We win NC next year if he does.
Re: How do you honestly feel about JR? I believe JR will be back next season. For starters, I believe he really wants to win the SEC and that alone will be reason enough for him to return....I also believe he recognizes that he hasn't played "perfectly", and he can only improve.
Re: How do you honestly feel about JR? Pay a little closer attention - the person in question in my post is Flynn. Would you like me to point out all the times Flynn has failed to impress? How about, every game he played in before the peach bowl - especially the Capital One Bowl? How about the fact that he only threw for like 130 yards in the Peach Bowl - not exactly Heisman material right there. How about that pretty pick 6 against Mississippi St? What about the way he took over the game when he came in against Tennessee this year - wait, that didn't happen. I think he gained all of 5 yards on 2 scrambles and was never even able to find a single receiver open down field. Our running game was MISERABLE against Auburn. It was nothing better than decent against Florida. And I didn't say good running & blocking - it was absolutely dominating in the Peach Bowl. Flynn never even felt pressure in the Peach Bowl. It's a lot easier to make good decisions when you have all day plus a great running game for support. Miami's defense during the season was very highly rated. During that game - was it just that our offense was so amazing? Or could it be that their defense layed an egg? I'm inclined to believe it was a combination of both. None the less, Flynn did it with better circumstances on his side of the field than JaMarcus has seen against a top team. And Flynn's stats weren't even that impressive - it was truly a team win.
Re: How do you honestly feel about JR? I was back home this weekend in Northern Louisiana, It really suprised me to see that 9 out of 10 people there wanted to see Flynn at QB...I am still more of a JR supporter....If JR does leave after this year i am feeling confident with being in good hands with Flynn and RP though.
