Re: Josh Williford He has an offer, but I don't know if it is a committable offer. Someone would need an inside scoop to have a read on if we would take him if he said yes tommorrow. If we lose Orelus, it would improve our chances of taking him, but CParso thought we would only take one more OL and the Utah guy is probably higher on our board. My best guess is that we would string out his committment until there is more clarity from the higher profile OLinemen. It is a good problem to have. The guy's high GPA, and his massive size and strength make him tempting for all of us, but we haven't seen him play and don't know how he stacks up against other OL on our board.
Re: Josh Williford That is not how it works. As stated, he does not have a commitable offer at this time and I suspect he never will but that could change depending on other factors. Same thing as Montrel Conner trying to commit to LSU early on when he thought his offer was commitable but we passed on him.
Re: Josh Williford Sorry, the term commitable offer is not in my vocabulary. At the offensive and defensive line camps in Tuscaloosa last week the people were just talking and they were saying how he just received an offer from LSU, and most were surprised. I am not sure where people are getting he doesnt have an offer, or if it is just speculation - im just passing along what those coaches and volunteers had heard. It would seem like he would know his place on the board. I do suspect that other guy knows Josh, though.
Re: Josh Williford If you read all the articles on scout and rivals, they state that he received scholly offers from Ole Miss and LSU. TN snubbed him at their camp by Fulmer acting like he didn't know him and Bama passed on him last weekend after the lineman camp. I think he's only played guard and they were only looking to sign tackles. (whatever that means) I guess Saban saw something during drills that led him to pass on the scholly offer. Josh was expecting an offer and he and his family were upset not to receive one. As a result, Josh said he was going to sign with LSU and go to Vet School. He's a young big guy with lots of upside potential and he is SMART. I think he'll be an asset to the program in Baton Rouge.
Re: Josh Williford Everyone here has said he has an offer but you are right. I am sure the coaching staff has been honest with him and told him where he stands. If he is sold on LSU and wants to commit he probably would have already. But Williford knows we are not ready to accept a commit with the other top prospects still higher on our board. I would assume Miles asked him to attend the July camp for further evaluation as well. I am also not surprised Fulmer's staff did not know who he was because he just popped out onto the scene but his success at the LSU camp will bring more recognition and bigger offers down the road. And I suspected tidemark probably knows Josh as well.

He has the gpa to prove he is intelligent and his aspiration to go to Vet school is commendable. He sounds like a good kid. We are just stating how it normally works. Since I have no inside info, we are saying that it was believed by reliable people on this board that we are only likely to sign one more OL. It would seem reasonable that we are holding an offer for someone who is considered a stud OL and is currently leaning our way, according to sources. I sincerely hope we sign Josh, but someone may have to decommit or other prospects may have to turn us down for us to get him. Good luck to the big man!!
Re: Josh Williford Talked to someone else today who thinks he has an offer - a commitable offer for you other people. Pretty interesting if true. Sorry, I misread your post. I was just disagreeing about whether or not he had a commitable offer. But obviously we each agreed it was sort of hard to believe at first.
