Yeah I didn't know the timing of when Castillo took over. I thought it was before the 2013 season. But I see like tailgaiting said, it just happened. So now that would make sense that both Moeller and Washington might be out of jobs in Baltimore. Question is, is that because LSU has already agreed in principle with Washington to be our O-line coach?
I don't care who the new OL coach is, he just needs to worry about actually teaching blocking skills and protecting our fucking QB...
Moeller has over 20 years experience coaching the O-line (closer to 25). Washington is young, having been out of the NFL only 8 years now. As LSUDad would say, I trust what Cam Cameron would choose out of those 2.
Cam would know better than anyone who would fit in with staff. I often talk about the right fit, this is one of those times
It's never gonna be a question of talent, it's going to be how can the O line coach get the most out of his kids. How can this guy motivate young men to want to be the best, and then technique. Not just switch to zone blocking scheme because man blocking isn't working. Do what best fits the guys you have, and coach em up, make them a cohesive unit. If a guy like Les Miles has a top 5 offensive line, watch the F out.
Ok, a Stacey Searles story. In 2003 when nick was fixing to hire an OL coach. I got a call from a coach I know, he told me that nick was gonna hire Stacey. I told one of the sports guys, I thought it was between he and I. The next morning, nick holds a press conference. Before it starts, the sports guy goes up to nick and says, "I hear you're gonna hire Stacey Searles." He said nick's was pissed, an from then on, thought his phone or office was bugged. He had just hung up the phone with Stacey, an had offered him the job.
