Okra - my Mom's way.

    My mom, and Aunts still do this....along with fresh corn. I love fresh bay shrimp from Vermillion bay, with 2 packs of cooked okra. Makes a awesome Shrimp Okra Gumbo...through in a few boiled eggs...ummm ummm sha!

    I like Okra

    Boiled
    Pickled
    Fried

    I don't care for it fried with a flour batter.

    I like it fried with a cornmeal batter

    close. i dont like a batter, but simply damp sliced okra dreged in seasoned cornmeal then pan fried till crispy. i eat it like popcorn when cooked that way. *drool*
