So your in Humble, Texas. That just so happens to be where I am originally from. I meant no disrespect. I think ya'lls band does play well, but i can only make that judgement off of one song. I would like to hear others was the point. That and to have a little fun!
Bnd05 - Listen carefully during the game and you will hear the OU band play 7 or 8 other songs - but you will hear Boomer Sooner a whole lot. We have a great band but nothing to match the Golden Girls. Hoo boy. I lived and worked in Baton Rouge for 5 years and my secretary was a former Golden Girl. Good lookin and she was able to get me some good tickets to some games at Tiger Stadium. I became quite a Tiger fan during those days and screamed along with the best of them - of course, the night game tradition really helps to get lubricated when the tailgating starts at about 3 pm!
Captain - Yeah, Bnd05 didnt say anything about hate but I guess I was just reacting to the disrespect toward OU that I have seen on many threads on this board. I came over to talk some football and I see our team dissed, our fight song dissed, our mascot (the Sooner Schooner covered wagon) dissed and even our state history dissed. What is it with you guys? I did not come over here looking for respect for the Oklahoma football program, respect is earned on the playing field and OU will do its best to earn your respect on January 4. But I did not expect to see the disrespect shown by what I had always considered to be class fans. If you want to be a champion perhaps you should act like you have been there and done that. If you would take a look at what Oklahoma has accomplished in the 45 years since LSU last won a national title and take a look at what OU has accomplished this year I should think that there shouldnt be any disrespect shown. Is this your normal behavior toward any opponent your team plays? A couple of posts have even dissed the intelligence level of Oklahoma residents. Is this the type of fan support that your university should be proud of? Think about it. Go Tigers and Boomer Sooner!
Shut up SoonerBird! Grow some balls and come back another day. I'm from OKLAHOMA and you don't see me on here crying. When I was deciding where to attend college it came down to OU or LSU, I chose LSU. I've got tons of friends at OU and they are my 2nd fav. team, but when you come here whining about respect it makes me sick. Go look at some of your own boards. Predictions of 45 point blowouts, the typical imbred cajun smack being thrown around. That is what happens when two groups of fans interract sometimes. Its all in good fun and you shouldn't take yourself so seriously, especially on an internet forum. Grow up or get out.
