    I could not agree more. A major handicap for many black students is the fact that they come from a family without a strong committment to education. Often their parents were themselves poor students and who did not complete high school. I am amazed at how many black parents allow their children to quite school. In my home, that was never an option. Neither my brothers nor I were allowed to make that decision; my parents made it and we knew what that decision was.

    The man is done. The only question is, who is strong enough to run as a viable mayoral candidate? Apparently, some are saying Mitch Landrieu should step down as Lt. Gov. and run.
