Egg in Gumbo Have you ever cracked an egg and let in cook in the Gumbo? It soaks up some of the gumbo flavor pretty good stuff. Its a Cajun thing. The Parisian French do the egg thing with some of their soups.

I agree, but would consider the Adult Beverages as "enhancing" rather than "sustaining". I can survive without beer for a day or two....but not without good ol' Cajun food OR LSU Football!
I don't know, if you talk to my wife's uncle, he would argue that his Coors Light is sustaining. Not my beer of choice, but a part of his daily routine in St. Landry.
