Best Stop in Scott has the best boudin.

Don's Country Mart is co-owned by my father-in-law, but I would not recommend them as the best boudin.

Sunset Specialty Meats (LA 182 in Sunset) has boudin very similar to Best Stop, so if you are coming down I-49, that might be the best place to go. (Exit at Sunset/Grand Coteau, go right at the exit and take another right. Its on your left 1/2 mile) His cracklin's are much better and give everyone a run for their money. They didn't used to be that good, but they changed a few things and they are pretty darn good.

There is also a place in Carencro between the 182 exit and the race track on the east side of I-10 called "Little Don's" They also have awesome cracklins. The owner of Don's Country Mart used to own that store before he got into the Coutnry Mart.

Breaux Bridge Boudin in Baton Rouge

The Gas station just to the left of the I-10 on Acadian Thruway (across from TJ RIbs) sells Breaux Bridge Boudin. It's excellent they sell out of it every day.

For boudin, I'll vouch for the Superette in Eunice.

Rabideauxs in Iowa makes damn good sausage.

And you can't beat The Best Stop off the I-10 Scott/Cankton exit just west of Lafayette for cracklins.

Oh, and those stuffed pork chops from Frank Fontenot's Meat Market in Ville Platte are good too.

PLEASE PLEASE DON"T STOP AT JERRY LEE's!!!!!! I wouldn't want anyone to think that is real boudin. He couldn't sell that stuff West of the Mississippi River. Several of the above mentioned are really good and Ronnie's has a store in Baton Rouge now. Your best bet is the one in Scott as it should be on your route. Bourque's in Port Barre is also very good.

Bouroques has great Boudin, they are a mile from my Grandpaws old country store.
There is also a little place just outside of Opolusas on the way to Washington, right past Souileaus resturant, does anyone remember the name of this place, I can't recall.

What about Tasso, and Andou. Sausage? Anybody got some good stops for that? ALSO how are the SATSUMA's from the west bank ( Belle Chase ) this year? These are an item NO ONE up here in MS knows about or understands, but EVERYONE who trys them LOVEs them. I heard Buchnells had PLENTY of good sweet Satsuma's this year. All you soommer's coming to the big easy should buy a bag of Satsumas they are better than tangerines.

It's not even close to the Interstate. You would have to drive 20 minutes to get there once you left I-10.

Poche's is only 2 miles from I-10. There's NO WAY it takes 10 minutes!
They used to be the best, but the best to me is Best Stop.
