I totally agree, but how do you single out the terrorists? They are embedded within the civilian community. We are not talking about a mechanized army; we are talking about loosely organized cells. It is a tough problem.

How would they feel about Mecca and Medina? There is a long-time rumor that in the 1973 war, Israel privately told Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia that if Israel was ever in danger of being completely overrun they could expect to see mushroom clouds rising over the two holiest cities in Islam.

Who knows how war is conducted better than general officers?

That is what I was referring too unless I misread the post above?
The generals should stick to their expertise and not assume what one side
or the other will do when this or that happens.

They were dealing with nations and governments in 73 and not shadowy terrorist forces. Do you think threats on Mecca and Medina would stop terrorists? I think the only solution is incarceration or destruction.

Agree completely. Efforts still should be made to protect the innocent. I just don't think total war will help our situation. No one has ever won a war of attrition.

I got the total solution for ending terrorism but its too bad on one would ever actually do it.
Take the dead terrorists and smear them with pigs blood.
100% guaranteed to work and save lives! :yelwink2:

The way to end this is to cut the money out from under them. No money, no weapons. No weapons, no terrorist acts. Simple. Now, as to why democrats won't get behind the prez on anything...well...he has himself to blame for that. Weapons of Mass destruction in Iraq...Drugs fund terrorism....how many other huge turd whopper lies have been told to the general public from this administration? What the situation in Iraq boils down to is money, and as long as Exxon/Mobil and Texaco/Shell are making record profits, nothing is going to change. Money. Yep. The root cause of our involvement in Iraq. If we were going after the 9/11 terrorists, we'd have invaded Saudi Arabia after Afghanistan instead of Iraq. Why didn't we invade our "ally"? Money. Saudi interests hold over 7% of the total money in US banks. Can't risk that money being pulled out, so we invade Iraq instead. Oh...and by the way, there are no democrat "insurgents" in Iraq. Democrats are not the enemy. ....and oil funds terrorism, not drugs...so in conclusion, drive a car that runs on bong water instead of gasoline.
