Get real. It's the 1st game. Take a win and get ready for ASU. You're setting yourself up to be pissed after a good showing by the Tigers.

I honestly don't think we would have to throw the ball much in the second half to beat this team really bad, they lost a lot of their best players on both O and D, will be very inexpereinced at most positions and will be breaking in a new OL, giving their one seemingly strong area, the running game, a real uphill battle. Add to that a QB that has yet to throw a college pas and it should be a complete blowout.

One bad thing about this game is they are going to run the ball on 80% of their plays. LSU get plenty of run defense practice. ASU will be passing 60% of the time, so the defense will need to make sure they dont get stuck on those run-first tendencies...

I think we're up by a respectible margin at the half. Perhaps something like 28-7 and walk away from this one 49-17.

I just feel that UNT, though over-matched on the line, will still run the ball enough to chew up some of the clock, doing their best to keep our offense off the field. But our D-line is just too tough and we'll force their fare share of 3-and-outs...

Miles had 4 games with a 25+ MOV last year at Okie St. so he's definitely not skeered to run it up. I also think he is fully aware of what a critical statement he needs to make given the hype and expectations around this season.

I see it at 38-0 at the half with flynn in the third and perrilloux getting a few reps in the fourth. Calling off the dogs won't matter with the mismatch - expect a couple NT scores with our bench cleared and we're looking at a 64-10 game (two field goals and a safety.)

    77-0 against Rice in 76 I think.

The first game is the scariest. We SHOULD come out and stomp this team BUT...we could come out falling all over ourselves and wind up in a tight battle like we've had in recent years against supposed cupcake teams. I agree though...we need a 40+ win to make this thing legit.

The University of North Texas Mean Green or Eagles whichever moniker they are using this week has a couple of outstanding running backs in Patrick Cobbs and Jamario Thomas. But let's put things into perspective - UNT is a Sun Belt Conference team, albeit the best SBC team the Mean Green still lost to Texas 65-0, Colorado 52-21 and Baylor 37-14. That's three losses by a combined score of 154 to 35, and it's an average loss of nearly 40 points. UNT has only 5 returning starters on offense, 6 if you say Cobbs who started in 2003, and 4 on defense. They have to replace an entire O-Line and D-Line and will likely start a sophomore or freshman QB. All this does not bode well for the boys from Denton who have to enter Death Valley on Sept. 3.

Are you clowning or what? The post was related to HOW MUCH (You know, points, those numbers up on the scoreboard). I'm saying the only hope for NT is Hurricane coming to BR. LSU rolls big 50+ points (as stated)

So, Sabanfan, tell us what score you are expecting against an obviously outmanned NT squad.

What's your idea of a "good showing" (in points) against NT by LSU?

Miles and the boys make a statement, you know...for all the naysayers.

It's time to bring the fear back in the hearts of LSU's opponents.

    LSU 63 UNT 6

    Seriously.
