You should do that every opportunity you have YOu dad won't be here forever, and if you went to the Sugar Bowl together he's probably a great man and hug him every chance you get. Trust me, you'll appreciate him as each year goes by.
I teared up a little when the guys passed the crystal football around. Other than that, I just was amazed. I cried for joy earlier this season when Eli fell down on that 4th down play. My husband thought I needed to be committed.
I watched the game at home on TV and got a little misty eyed at the end. Like another poster I was feeling no pain at the end of the game :geaux:
Re: You should do that every opportunity you have We didn't go to the game, but we watched it together. I was happy we could share that. He is a great guy.
I cried just thinking about what it was going to be like when we won it! I knew from the time it was announced we would be in the game we would win it. I ain't ashamed to show my pride with tears! GEAUX TIGERS!!! :geaux: :helmet: :lsug: :helmet: :geaux:
I cried BEFORE the game! I was driving across the state to my son's house to watch the game with him. Put on my LSU band tape and from the opening notes tears were running down my face - especially the Alma Mater. Almost couldn't see the road. This went on for a half-hour at least! By the end of the game I was so emotionally wrung out that I really had nothing left. There wasn't the expected sense of euphoria after the game, but in the days since there has been a slow warming to the fact that our beloved Tigers are the National Champions.
Have to admit I teared up pretty good when ABC's coverage started. I could NOT believe I was watching LSU play for this! After the game when that punt rolled and the clock ran out.............I wept and wept like a little child. My wife said she had NEVER seen me like that!
By the way........... here's what makes this game SO great. OU had something to prove!!!!! They were supposed to come out and show the world they were the best team EVER! The loss to K-State was somewhat understandable, being told that game didn't matter, they would still go to the title game, etc., etc. That loss embarrassed the hell out of them and they were going to show the world that that game was a total fluke. Considering what we achieved it is without a doubt the greatest LSU win ever! OU would have literally destroyed USC. And there is no doubt what so ever that LSU is the best team in the country. It's not even up for debate. After stomping a revenge minded Georgia team on their home turf and then OU! USC faced NOTHING like we did this year. No conference title game. No revenge minded team in a conference title game. You could go on and on. That's why I cried so hard. LSU acted like being in a NC title game was old hat. I've never in my life seen such a mature Tiger team and I've been watching for nearly 40 years.
My eyes watered up at the end when the clock hit zero, and then again when Nick was receiving the trophy.
