i was just half way listening to espn. im pretty sure that usc and ou have already been penciled in. :rolleye33:
How about the biggest fraud of all, James Laryngitis. Talk about disappearing in big games. God I hope that dude doesn't get mentioned in any post season awards this year. 6th round draft pick at best
ESPN has crowned USC champs already. Check out their front page. Anybody have a clue as to why the rest of us are even trying to play out the rest of the season?
Guys, I'm an Ohio State fan, and I'll own up. That was an embarrassment. I can't wait to see an elite SEC team play USC, though. I've seen great USC teams play and I've seen great SEC teams play. I think that LSU could have beaten USC in 2003 and in 2008, definitely. This definitely does prove that everything the nation has been saying about Ohio State is true. We really aren't that good, or at least we haven't been since 2005. However, a large part of why we aren't that good is mental confidence. I don't even think they think they are good anymore. It's going to become painfully obvious if we lose a few games in an up-year Big Ten this year. Penn State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, and Michigan State look pretty solid, and are all potential losses (Well, aside from the fact that Purdue does botch every opportunity it has at winning a big game). The Big Ten having a winning record in bowl games this year is a strong possibility (When you consider the full bowl schedule, at least). The conference is much better than national perception has indicated. The Big Ten is still better than the ACC and the Big East. Overall, in my opinion, it is better than the Pac-10 (Just not at the top, obviously). LSU fans, listen to me when I say this: You have to enjoy having a team that can be competitive in big games. It may not last forever. I would have loved to have had my team be as competitive as it was against Texas in 2005 or Miami (FL) in 2002 tonight (From an objective point of view, I can understand the nation's opinion about that penalty. However, it still would have been going to overtime against a great team in the National Championship game. And, it would have still been good television and great football). A close loss isn't as bad as this. This is just terrible. Good luck this year LSU. You play in a elite conference, and I hope that whatever team comes out of it can beat USC. You have a great fanbase, and I respect your team and coach (Even if he is from Michigan :wink. The way he handled the situation with Perrilloux was admirable, and he truly cares for his players. If you get a felony at USC, you get to play... Make no mistake though, I still love Jimmy T to death. He did the best with what he had in a ridiculously tough and unusual situation. I don't think any other coach has ever been put in this kind of situation. He just did his job as best he could, but he still had problems that couldn't be fixed. The offensive and defensive line coaches, on the other hand...
And why wouldn't they be? They're the top teams of the Pac 1 and the Little 12. Nevermind that the SEC pounds the hell out of each other week in and week out while USC beats up on Stanford (sometimes), Washington State, and Oregon State and OU destroys Baylor, A&M and Texas Tech. Obviously these two teams deserve consideration for the national championship above all others... :dis:
definitely not as bad as perception from the middle but that top is severely lacking. will take a few years of recruiting the south more heavily at corner and DE before this is corrected. lack of speed on the edge and over the top is so noticeable its scary considering OSU was supposed to be a top 5 team these last 5 years.
