USC has a respectable D. Most teams would be happy to have it.

LSU's D may be the best of the past several years. #1 in both scoring and yards is a RARE accomplishment.

I'm not very smart, but I remember the trophy that USC got at the end and it said Rose Bowl winner, and I believe the one LSU got said National Champions on it. Nuff said.

    Let's shut em' up

Guys, we can go back and forth for months on this subject. Nothing is gonna change these media idiots minds this year. The only way we can shut them ALL up is to repeat. I believe we can do it. If we roll through the 2004 season no one can even begin to criticize LSU. We won't have to climb the ladder in the rankings, we will already be near the top rung. Tigers all the way in 2004!

Romey is Romey. A little man who is paid to run his mouth and stir controversy. Controversy pays the bills.

Remember back a couple weeks, and he was blowing so much smoke up Saban's butt, it wasn't funny. He's just another little kiss ass, who sometimes happens to be funny.

He is a homer for USC and always will be. Just accept it and listen or change the channel for another week or 2.

We will be ranked 5th or 6th starting next year and we play Uf and UGA who will be ranked higher than us at the beggining of next year so we will see what happens. USC will be ranked 1 and I hope they stay there so we can meet them in the Orange Bowl.

Remember where Rome's show is based out of. LA.

I was curious to hear his show when it started, but after listening to it, (and before all this LSU/USC stuff), I was disappointed. He is an arrogant smart ass who is not consistently funny. The only time he is funny is when it's at someone elses expense.

You really think Uf and UGA will be ranked higher than us at the beggining of next year? That's hard to imagine. And you think the SEC will have three teams in the top 5 in the preseason polls?I don't know... Also, I would expect LSU to be #3 in the preseason polls if Mauck returns. An unproven QB, no matter how great his potential, could cause many voters to drop LSU a few notches.

Florida ranked higher then us to start next season??????

    WTF

They have a good qb who will need recievers to throw to, they need a running game asap, and they are losing their defensive leader. Florida will be barely top 20-25 to start next season, then Zook will screw them up in the first 6 games and the Spurrier calls will get hot and heavy.

Georgia will be good...I will give you that. Definate Top 7 ranking to start.

I like Rome. He's funny and controversial and never wishy washy. So what if he thinks USC could beat LSU? Does it really matter what anyone thinks might happen?

i think if it really came right down to predicting before an actual game between LSU and USC, if these "analysts" wanted to be taken seriously in the future - they'd come down on LSU's side.

The only reason he's tooting USC's horn is because he hates the BCS so much. I hated it too, because I really thought USC was the better team at then end of the year (better than OU, not LSU) and I thought that would be the better game. ANd I truly bebieve many of the "journalists" who vote in the AP voted for USC out of spite for the BCS - not based on an objective consideration of the merits of both teams. That's got to be obvious to any observer.

I don't care about USC at all. I am happy with our NC. I will never refer to it as a split NC. LSU did all it could to win it, did everything the rules say a team must do to win the NC. So what if someone disagrees? Isn't that why we have democrats?
