In the NFL, skyboxes are popular because that revenue isn't shared. Its different in college, but I would still think skyboxes bring in more money than they cost to build. I remember watching a TV show, where Trademark paid something like 100 grand or 200 for its skybox. And, skyboxes can be a useful tool to induce donations, where the availability of one is tied to a generous donation to the school.
Just as well...I'd prefer having our team at a level of play that's worthy of getting a new ballpark. ...I know, I know--that's harsh.
Yeah just a little bit. FWIW, LSU has been playing really good ball this season. Of course, they have been playing really crappy ball as well, but the future looks REALLY bright. :geauxtige
Well, should we not make the NCAA postseason, it won't be for lack of effort. We can all thank Smoke for the decline of LSU baseball. This season is the first that I haven't followed the baseball team--and that's not from a lack of interest as much as it's been me really busy with work the last 2 months. I'm just thankful that we can be competitive in the SEC tourny and perhaps sneak in the backdoor to a regional.
