Oh, by the way, don't forget to vote for Bobby Jindal on October 4th!

Jindal has proven through public service he's got the fortitude to stay the course...

His rise was based on merit, not because Charles Roemer was Commisioner of Administration, and paid for him to get an economics degree from Harvard and then come back home and get plush jobs running smash mouth open and shut campaigns for shoo ins to the offices they were running for.

He got state contracts for computer companies he set up, getting huge bonus checks and hundreds of thousands of dollars in consulting fees.

He got called in front of grand juries for his dealings, and the State Ethics Board...

Jindal is no Roemer...He tackled health care reform and Medicare reform for DC...no small task...He wasn't the only senior policy advisor for Tommy Thompson, but you don't get there without knowing a lick about politics...

He's been straightforward in his mission statement and his objectives, and he didn't wait for polls to tell him what voters would think is important.

Fear of the Legislature shouldn't deter someone for voting for the Governor in the State of Louisiana. The position is quite possibly the most powerful of any of the 50 state's top executive position.

The Legislature should not sway who you vote for. The merit of the man running should.

If you think for one second that the man's IDEAS are illogical, then point them out, please...

If you base your vote on who's the best impersonator of "Slick 50" with the Louisiana State Legislature, you're backing the wrong horse...

Sorry, but getting contracts from the government proves nothing, and is a negative in my book, and why conservatives generally applaud the ability of a business to live and make millions off the government, while disdaining an impoverished person from getting a foodstamp, is beyond me.

What reform, exactly, has Tommy Thompson gotten through in his position with the federal government? None, to my knowledge.

Fear of the legislature is living in reality - that's the way it works around here. I also realize that the legislature is as crooked as a barrel of snakes.

If you were talking to me, as I assume you were, please quote my post in which I said his ideas were illogical, much less anything negative about them.

I am supporting Jindal. I also think it will speak volumes for Lousiana since he is of Indian decent. Honestly, of all states, I figured Louisiana would be one of the last to have minority or female governor, maybe we can change this.

Man, you've reversed course on Ewing quick. You were calling him a simpleton a few weeks ago.

Sorry JD, I meant to get you some info on Ewing, but I just haven't gotten around to it. I haven't forgotten you though, it's coming, I promise.

TUWho--you might be thinking of more than one person in Shreveport. Lydia Jackson actively supported Mary last year whie Tarver sat on his hands. That made Lydia a go-to person for the Democrats and Tarver irrelevant. Tarver also pi$$ed off his constituents by supporting Governor Scarecrow over Jefferson four years ago.

Cleo's not as strong as he used to be either--some of the other black politicians in Baton Rouge stepped up to the plate when he didn't (May have been Holden & Jetson but I'm not sure.) Unfortunately Cleo still packs some clout, especially if he can somehow push Leach into the runoff.

Umm....JD, I think you're off your freaking rocker in those comments towards me...

If you think the good cop/bad cop routine hasn't existed for MANY years with Fields and Jefers and the block votes in Baton Rouge and Nawlins, look no further to what happened when Clinton leaned on Fields in that phonecall around 1pm to his office.

Instantly, Fields machine, which was silent, rolled into action, and it was in favor of Landrieu. It ended up hand delivering EBRP to Landrieu by a 63,000 vote margin.

Orleans got activated, and ended up with a 100,000+ vote swing for Landrieu. Terrell's from down there, and had some name recognition. It didn't matter when the machines got rolling.

Your rhetoric about left versus right doesn't phase me, because I actually am a registered independent, and I voted for GWB for President, Landrieu for Senator, and I'll vote for Jindal as governor.

Touching base on your diatribe comparing me to Woody Jenkins, that's just offbase. I like CANDIDATES, not parties, and I'm no conspiracy theorist. My former employer gave me a first hand look at politics, and the employer before that gave me an opportune look at how the Legislature's inner workings perform.

As for you saying that Roemer received state contracts and money and consulting fees being a NEGATIVE, then that's great. I actually mentioned it being a negative. Your off base, nonsensical ramblings failed to take into account the fact that I mentioned that Roemer made his $ and cut his teeth and made his connections off the back of his father, and off the back of crooked dealings with the state of Louisiana...

Perhaps you better tone down the rhetoric before you address me again. I judge all candidates on their merits, and I don't hide behind one party's coattails or another. Your mindset was as illogical as your characterizations of my stances on the issues I mentioned in my posts...

Get it together and try a little harder, or don't try at all, my friend...

I still haven't decided but it is quite possible that I may end of voting for Jindal. Holy Cow!! Is it actually possible that an enlightened liberal like you and a redneck neanderthal like myself could end up voting for the same candidate?? Lets get together one day and sing a few verses of Kumbaya and hug some trees.

What the hell is going on? First JD likes a candidate that I might vote for and now Tuwho says he is a Republican. Could this be the "Dawning of the age of Aquarius?"

Just imagine- You, me, JD, Sabanfan, Jetstorm and DallasTiger all coming together in the spirit of peace and harmony and good will toward all. Maybe even Biggles will join us.
