    Undecided indeed...

    1. Anyone but Blanco

    2. Hunt Downer because he don't like no freeloaders.

    3. Allgood, because his running mate Rick Ankesheiln is a buddy of mine.

    4. "Honest Dan" Kyle. Oops, he bailed.

    5. Buddy Leach. No wait, I thought that was Buddy Roemer

    6. Jindal if there are no "diapers and fanbelts" in his closet.

    In other words, undecided

    My man...

The Anyone But Blanco bit is classic, and accurate.

Downer is a puppet who sold out to Avondale and the Boysie Bunch he got together down there long ago...

    3.) Who?

Buddy Leach? Buddy Leach? The only shot he's got is paying off the Gold Dust Triplets when they come out with their good cop/bad cop routine come election time...He and Ieyoub are going to make the Royal Triumverate of Fields/Tarver/Jefers the richest men in the state.

Whichever Democrat that pays them, is whichever Democrat is in the runoff. A Democrat WILL pay them, and that means that there are no black votes in the three major metro areas of La. left for anyone else to scrounge around to get. That means that Democrats won't land 2 in the runoff. Which means if the Republicans can unify behind a candidate-and I think that Jindal is a quality candidate that can unite the Conservatives and even the GOP Progressive out there behind him with his vision and energy-they have a shot to nullify those hand delivered vote blocks.

Orleans Parish will tell the tale. If they can get out the white vote in the runoff in Orleans, then they've got a shot to play catchup in EBR and Caddo...

In North Lousyana, it's a footrace they can win...

Republicans have a real, quantifiable shot, and it's indirectly a result of and thanks to the Fields/Jefers/Tarver triple crown of greed...

TE--Ieyoub & Leach are in BIG trouble. They're splitting the liberal vote evenly, and Blanco is taking black women away from them. One of them has a chance if they get the entire black vote behind them, but it's most likely going to be Jindal, Ewing, and Blanco fighting for 2 runoff spots. Maybe Downer if he gets the Bubba vote.

    My opinion of the candidates?

    Like: Blanco, Ewing
    Can live with: Downer, Jindal
    Assclowns: Leach, Ieyoub, Spa Boy.

Whoever pays the three black machines will take one spot for the Democrats. There will be no other black voters for Democrats to cater to, I assure you...

With the unified black vote behind one candidate, probably either Ieyoub and/or Leach, no Democrat will have a shot to scrounge up enough support to come close to the runoff...

From there, it'll be a strictly Republican route to the runoff...

Fields/Jefers/Tarver have created a defacto GOP/Dem runoff because if you pay the $, you get the block vote from the blacks in EACH of those major metro areas, which are the only consolidated voting blocks in the state that can be delivered. If you don't pay them, they'll work just as hard against you.

Trust me, whoever pays the Gold Dust Triplets will effectively doom the other Democratic candidates...and open the door for Jindal to slide in.

From there, the Republicans have to realize that they need a unified get out the vote effort, and they ESPECIALLY need to focus on the rural areas of the state, to help blunt the black block vote...

I would vote for Downer but he probably dosen't have much chance so unless he is higher in the polls come election day I'll probably go for Jindal

I believe Tarver has decided not to run for re-election because of a bigger calling...I dunno what it is, but I thought it might have to do with the Rainbow Push Coalition....

You may be right, but rest assured, SOMEONE is in control of that machine up there...It's too valuable to be left to drift away...

Thank you Woody Jenkins. Where have we heard that before - only EVERY time non-whites vote in large numbers. ONly problem, Woody, was that Trent "I am black" Lott found out that it was probably YOU who was one paying the street money so he quickly hushed the investigation. Maybe vote-buying was why the "Lord" (I hate to use His name in vain) took back his promise to you that you would win. The only question is, when will they EVER investigate the money passed out in redneck districts? (and this includes other states, particularly pat robertson land).

I like Jindal. Jindal has one severe weakness - lack of political experience. He doesn't have the savvy to get a lot of his interesting ideas through - the fear is that the legislature will completely bastardize them. Jindal, not Leach, is the close comparison to Roemer - right ideas, lack of political skill.

I may end up voting for lame Ms Blanco for one reason - she has no platform and is probably harmless. Ewing probably falls into this category as well, but I know nothing about him - Jetstorm, where are you? "Physician do no harm" is my motto.

I like Leach because he is running an openly liberal campaign. I don't like Leach because his ethics are ?able and because he is embracing many of the worst liberal ideas that exist (super minimum wage, e.g.)

Downer is a joke - completely owned by campaign contributors, imo.

Oh , I forgot about Ieyoub. He cares about one thing - his wallet. Paying contingency fees for the tobacco settlement was disgraceful and, arguably, a criminal offense. No thanks.

Sometimes big business needs to be busted - when it refuses to take responsibility for its actions, when it destroys the water and air quality, and expects taxpayers to pick up the tab of cleanup, it needs to pay the price. When Boards and CEOs STEAL from shareholders and employees it deserves to be busted (are you listening George Bush and John Ashcroft???). Sure there are short-term costs in loss o jobs - but the long term benefit is greater. It's called an even playing field - that's all that's necessary. You pollute the living crap out of the water and air and what happens - you get a nice chemical industry (but forget about the corporate headquarters - they don't want to live in their own swill) BUT NOTHING ELSE - you get a bad quality of life and hence no other businesses want to be anywhere near this place.
Selling your soul to certain businesses was Edwin Edwards philosophy, that we still pay for.
