You play zone to rest the players ... it's a direct result of having a short bench. But even in a zone, players should be smart enough to know where Power and Frazier are at all times. They were wide open on those 3s. As frustrating as it is to watch at times, they are up by 4 at the half...
not a bad first half, just need to keep going inside, they can't handle our bigs down low, if lsu can make free throws and not turn the ball over it should be a win
Exactly. I'm going to have to eat crow now after the great distribution and play so far from Tack Minor. We're up 4 at half on the road against a MSU team WITH a returning Frazier.
Well, after surviving the 3-pt barrage and weathered the emotional surge surrounding Frazier's return, I would say I would have taken a 41-37 halftime score before tipoff. This team seems to thrive when it is down for the count, rather than following prosperity with more prosperity. What may come back to kill them are the losses to USM and Houston. Brady has them playing well tonight, but it's a 40 minute game. I just see too much talent to be debating and wondering whether this team is NCAA-tourney bound. We should be discussing whether we have a legit shot at the Sweet 16 IMO.What is so frustrating is seeing the LSU athletic program as a whole excelling except, seemingly, for the mens' BB program. Though LSU has not been a consistent national player in MCBB for over a decade, some of us still remember the '80s and early '90s and know what potential lies in this program - especially with the university's recent commitment to athletics as a whole. OK, off the soapbox... Geaux Tigers! Play 'em even in the second half and you win! :thumb:
We have to avoid that dreaded drought that seems to haunt this team. They played pretty well in the 1st half. Get the ball down low to Bass and Davis. Mitchell needs to take it to the hole more and not settle for the 3 since he can't seem to make one on the road. They got a chance...
Yeah, we've had no 3-pt production to match theres, yet we still lead. Must get it inside, force Campbell and/or Roberts into an early 3rd foul and make a couple 3's. And we must defend the perimeter...
