BergeGFK, Ponchy Tiger, innickwetrust: Go back and read the first 4 or 5 pages in this thread then come back and tell us how stupid you feel. :hihi: :hihi:
Their perimeter defense IS terrible.... I will stand by that statement... And their first half performance was pretty bad....
That 1st half barrage of 3s happened pretty quickly and gave MSU a pretty good run but does it ever occur to you that the other team has a coach and he's trying different things too?
That was a great win for TIGERS. 7-4 in the SEC 2nd place in the west. I'm hoping we can win the next two against UF & Bama but a split is more realistic then you have two very winnable road games at Ole Miss & Auburn leading to the season finale at home against Vandy. Like I've been saying before if we can get to 10-6 were in the tournament. But I would not be suprised if we finished 11-5. I hope we can get some fan support against UF lets shoot for 10,000.
Not rotating over to cover an open man isn't a coach...It's lazy defense...and wow...I know I just blew your mind by not being negative about the coach... I'm thinking of the lazy ass manner in which Hudson plays defense, to this day...That weak hand he threw up in the face of Frazier early...That was a joke...
well they need to work on rotating to the open man quick because roberson and walsh can drain the three....I hope a good crowd shows up saturday...after the win tonight these guys deserve it...
Coaching has little to do with it. It has happened all year: pass the ball around past the key and someone WILL be open for a three against LSU. That is called bad perimeter D.... :geauxtige
Great win for John Brady, the players and the coaches. Watching that game, I felt that if the Tigers could keep the Dawgs from going on one of those late 1st half runs that killed the Tigers against Arkansas, then the Tigers had a very good chance to win the ballgame. The guys got into a lot of foul trouble, but the Tigers got good minutes off the bench from Whip, Neltner and Lazare. This win was huge for many reasons. It gives the Tigers another win over a quality opponent. It was a good road win. It puts the Tigers in sole possesion of second in the SEC west. It puts a little less pressure on the Tigers in the upcoming games against Bama and Florida. These are two games the Tigers would love to have. But, with this win, if the split those two games, they are still in pretty good shape. After the next two, the Tigers have some very winnable games. The team could finish 12-4, will more than likely finish 11-5. If that happens the Tigers would be 18-9 on the year and in good shape going into the SEC tourney. It would also mean a bye in the Tourney. This team showed tonite what they are capable of. It's just about hitting your stride. I hope for the sake of the players and for coach Brady that they can use this as a late season spring board. Tack Minor amazes me. He's the only player on that team that I can hate then love in a matter of seconds. He hits the big 3 late and I love the guy. Then he'll go do something stupid like shoot that corner 3 or drive the baseline and shoot a reverse with 15 on the shotclock. But, you have to take the good and bad with a guy like that. The Tigers also need to get there long range stroke back. Mitchell has been playing good D but his offense is lacking right now. His 3 point shot is off on the road. Hopefully for him some home cooking will get him back on track. You can't say enough about Bass and Big BAby. They are men out there on the floor. Lazare has picked up some slack and hit some shots. Whip, although he hasn't been scoring a whole lot, does not hurt the team when he's in. Neltner reminds me a lot of me as a player. He'll get a few boards and when left open can hit the 3 from the top of the key. He gives the team good mins. All in all I think things are on an upswing. I hope to see all of you at the Pmac on Saturday for Florida. I'll be there supporting the Brady Bunch. I think you should make it a point to give these kids a great atmosphere to play in against a good team.
I loved Brady's fist pump when Bass dunked it with 10 seconds left. I am happy to how excited the team was in this big win. Congrats Tigers and Congrats Brady....This was one of the best coached games I had ever seen him ever coach.
