The reason you put him in is to give him game experience. You learn from your mistakes, they create awareness. I bet he doesn't go past the LOS again this year, and he will become more aware of intentional grounding. This is good for later in the year, if you think Lee must contribute for this team to do its best. I'd rather see him make his mistakes and learn from them BEFORE we get to Fla. and Bama. He's doing good, I'm happy to see him get a shot.
Boy neither QB has looked great out there for us. JJ had that big run but it's clear they don't believe he can pass the ball AT ALL. Otherwise, why would you pull him out on a 3rd and 23? It's also clear Lee is playing nervous and trying to make something happen. Same as the DeAngelo fumble, both of JLee's penalties were when he was trying to turn a play around instead of just taking what was given.
How can you blame the coaches for 2 turnovers, holding and dropping the pitch ten yards in the backfield?
Coaching is responsible for play calling, how athletes are used in a game, clock management and getting the team ready to play. They are not responsible for penalties or turnovers. Those mistakes belong to the players. The coaches cannot go on the field and play the game.
when a team is loaded with talent and struggles every single game... not to mention penalty after penalty... and a QB who refuses to progress.... it comes down to coaching
Definitely more exciting offensive play this week. Tennessee came ready to play. It's good to see Lee playing. I'm impressed with Lee so far. He's just green and needs more playing/practice time. Jefferson should have never thrown that ball short of the sticks, which is why our wide receiver stuck his arm out. No excusing the fumble, but Jefferson contributed to that. Pray that Lee does well, cause he is our only hope of competing with our better opponents. I think Lee can do it. Miles should have given Lee playing time starting back in the Vanderbilt game. If he would have, Lee would be clicking now.
