Topic of discussion: Is Blake Griffin the next Carmelo Anthony? And by that I mean is he just a flashy player who is fun to watch but will never be part of a championship team because he is lacking in so many areas? I vote yes.
definitely yes, his mid range game is a joke and zero post moves. but i wouldnt compare him to Melo, he has established a long ball and a decent mid range jumper. He is also serviceable on the block.
I wasn't comparing him to Melo's game. I was comparing to the fact that he is a flashy player that is fun to watch (ala Melo but that's where the comparison ends) with so many deficiencies that he hurts his team as much as he helps them. Thus, no championship coming anytime soon. Looking at his stats, he averaged 12 rebounds a game in his first season, only 8.3 last season. If he could at least be dominant on the boards, maybe you have hope.
As a Knicks fan, I will say that they will never win a title with Melo on the team. I, for one, am very glad that he is going to 'test free agency'. Deuces.
