I can't even remember her name but recall that she went to Catholic High (New Iberia) and was a semi-cute brunette in her 30s. The guy she was with was from Chicago and not sure if they were married or dating. I only sat by them for about 20 minutes during one of the tables being merged. My parents live in Youngsville and I mentioned that we've gone to New Iberia for dinner a few times but kind of feel like everyone is looking at us like "who's your mamma, do we know you?". I mentioned to the guy from Chicago that my neighbor is from there and if Chicago were anything like New Iberia, I'd ask if he knew my neighbor. May have been a lame joke and possibly like one of the Seinfeld episodes where George felt like he was "on" with his witty banter. Although I was probably a little annoying like George gets when he gets his confidence going. Sometimes there is a fine line between confidence and being a douche.
That's why I asked. But if she went to CH there is no way I know her. It was still only a boys school when I lived in NI
She may have been in her 20s. I'm 36 now and having a more difficult time with being able to tell if someone (both guys/girls) are in their 20s versus 30s.
Usually you can figure out who it is in this situation. Seems like everyone knows everyone in New Iberia. My brother married a New Iberia girl and I work with a guy from there.
When I played basketball in high school, New Iberia Sr. High was the dominant team. When I was a junior, they had the Manual/Price duo and should have won state (Manual got busted smoking pot in the hotel and missed final game). I was the 7th man on my team for my junior season and got a block from behind on Manual when he was going back up after an offensive rebound. Manual ended up having a pretty good career with the Cajuns and Price was a starter for UNC-Charlotte (I think) Shortly after moving to Houston, I was playing in a city league and our team went 3-0 over Manual's over two seasons (including a playoff win). He said that he had been touring with the Globetrotters until getting in a car wreck. His teams were decent but not to the level of his NISH teams. It was basically all of his buddies and they were obviously high during the games (but still pretty good).
But give Shane credit, even when things are going great for OKC, he still hates Scott Brooks (and Kendrick Perkins). He has been consistent.
A D-leaguer saves the Rockets' ass. Good to see. This is by far the best opening round of the NBA playoffs I have ever seen. So many great series.
Lin hung in there and made a few plays. I'm rooting for him although he struggles at times. They don't all know his name yet! That shot was as big as it gets. McHale had the guts to stay with him after Parsons fouled out. All three games have been intense and down to the wire. Lillard has made me a believer that he's a legit superstar. Harden and Howard have so much talent that it makes them frustrating to watch when they don't dominate.
