I had no idea how good Ron Artest was until I watched these last 2 games. A lot of guys who play great defense get 12-14 per game just by hustling or getting break out steals, etc... But Artest truly is a great offensive player, too. He is the best Rocket through 2 games.
This just in. Ron Artest is a pretty damn good basketball player. Combining offense and defense, I would put him in the top 5 players in the NBA. When his head is on straight. If he stays out of trouble and the Rockets avoid the injury bug......... yikes!
he's on a contract year... He won't mess it up anytime this year. A lot of what he does is a bad wrap, though. Ala the bogus technical he got earlier just simply because he is Ron Artest.
Clair, The guy has a bad rap, because he is a bad apple. All the stunts and shyt that he has pulled over the years. Its like Rasheed Wallace, you want him on your team, when he is on his medicine.
Well the tech last night was fairly bogus. They jumped the gun when they saw Artest try to come to the aid of his fellow player and basically try to break things up. It was as if everyone just immediately went into flashback mode, including the fans who anticipated something much bigger. The refs unfortunately fell victim to it and gave him a tech. Reggie Miller was pretty livid about it on the broadcast.
Well Lakers, Rockets and Hornets appear to be the head of the class. It is shaping up to be a great NBA season. The East has some exciting young talent and of course the question mark of the Celtics being able to shoo away the complacency bug. Is it just me, or is the level of competition the greatest it's ever been in NBA history?
Well the Spurs and Suns are susceptible to slightly down years. Spurs getting older and the Suns with a new head coach and new schemes. Mavs may very well be fighting for their playoff lives this year, but I have them coming out the best of those 3 teams. The Jazz I may have underestimated, however, and should have placed 4th. Like Clair says, we shall see.
Jazz looked good their 1st game against the Nugs and they without Deron Williams who will be back within the week. Ronnie Price did really well stepping in for him. Boozer looked like he did 2 years ago. A little early to tell but I see them included in Isl's top spots along with the Lakers, Hornets, and Rockets.
They just hurt people. Like I don't mean that in a negative way, but rather a positive way. In a 7-game series, they leave you battered and bruised.
