I've watched the Lakers in preseason and Gasol and Bynum don't know how to play together yet. But once they do, it's lights out.
It will be a struggle for a while I think. Plus its an unwritten alw that the Lakers have to suck against the Blazers and Kings so I dount we will see too much tonight. Ill admit though, Bynum is playing a lot better right now than I thought he would. With Bynum back The Lakers will be able to sub five and have a team better than a few other NBA teams.
He's starting to play well, consistently. Also should have mentioned Ariza being back will make a huge difference too. What's Battier's deal?
some sort of leg/foot injury of some sort. I haven't kept up with it too much because it's nothing major. He will miss a week or two of the season, most likely. Maybe 3-4 weeks at the most. The plan is to start Battier at the 3 and Artest at the 4. But I just can not see that happening with some of the great PF's out west. Maybe against a small-ball team, but Artest can't guard Gasol or Amare, etc... So I expect them to move Scola to the 4 (he's been a beast in preseason) and use Ron as 6th man. We'll see. The big guy to keep an eye on for Houston is Brent Barry. He was a major pickup, because if they go with a lineup late in games of: PG: McGrady SG: Barry SF: Battier PF: Artest C: Yao if anyone doubles on one of the big 3, Barry and Battier will bury you. Should be interesting.
i am watching the Bulls. Tough to beat their bench. PG: Hinrich SG: Gordon SF: Noicioni PF: Noah C: Who cares? That's a loaded bench. A lot of guys on that team will play in the 25-30 min range on that team, but I see no one playing 40 mins, because they're really, really deep.
I haven't had much time to keep up with basketball during the off-season but I see some of you pick the Lakers to win it all. When did Los Angeles re-sign Shaq? :hihi:
West: 1. Hornets (what a coup to get Posey) 2. Lakers 3. Rockets 4. Mavericks 5. Spurs 6. Jazz 7. Trailblazers 8. Suns East: 1. Magic 2. Celtics (hard to come back after winning it all) 3. Raptors 4. Pistons 5. Cavs 6. 76ers 7. Heat 8. Hawks Final Four East: Celtics vs Magic West: Hornets vs. Lakers Finals: Hornets over Magic in 6 League MVP: Chris Paul ROY: Greg Oden 6th Man: Ginobuli
Come on Clair we all know about the sour grapes the last 2 seasons. Excuses are for the weak, you are better than that.
