Another championship for David Stern and the NBA officials. The first quarter was called great, and then the 2nd half the refs sucked horribly. Pau Gasol obviously went up with the ball and came down and shot after his feet were on the floor, they called Ray Allen for a foul on a 3 point shot by Kobe which wasn't even close to being a foul, Sheed was called for a crap over the back call at the end which fouled him out. And the Celtics were getting mugged on offense. It was pathetic. Congrats Stern, you don't run the NBA you run the NBPWA, the National Basketball and Professional Wrestling Association.
The Ray Allen and Sheed calls were clearly fouls, that was clearly over the back. Kobe had a horrible night, but he defended well and rebounded, the Celtics aged showed in the 4th quarter, but the refs did take over the second half.
I saw calls go both ways. I don't think the officiating was bad enough to directly influence the outcome of the game, at least in my opinion. Although I did get the outcome I wanted.
LaSalle, what did I tell you about Rasheed Read more: RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Rasheed Tries To Get Into Referee Locker Room RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Rasheed Tries To Get Into Referee Locker Room
i watched the game. figured there arent many game 7s with lsu tigers. i was pulling for boston but agree with MM about the calls. i thought you said he wouldnt show up. seems like he had a very good game (especially for a 35 yr old)
Man i disagree, he had some big baskets and played pretty good defense for the most part. Sorry i watched his 5th "foul" over and over and i still don't see it. 37 free throws shot for the Lakers, 17 shot by the Celtics.
Whether Gasol traveled on that basket or not, it was Rasheed phantom defense that got him in position to score. Also, he was over the back trust me, that foul would be called 9 out of 10 times in any game. Rasheed didnt provide anything at all but garbage minutes.
