1. Otter hates you.
  2. It was my fault. I had a flight on the ground and had to go out with 1:20 left. One I got it parked I ran back in just in time to see Davis throw the ball away...

To those of you jumping on the coach bashing wagon...I'll keep my mouth shut. :flipoff:
  3. I usually agree with you, but come on "inexperienced players" those two guys with those turnovers were 2/5 of the starting final four team last year... one's an all american...

that's the second time in two weeks temple blew a game with a late game turnover... THE SAME EXACT WAY!!! I mean.. you think he'd be coached to NOT throw the ball all the way across the court with the lead and one minute remaining...

missing shots and just not having the offensive firepower to get it done is one thing, but just giving the ball away at the end is definitely coaching... They should have won that game. They played so hard and overcame the fact that they didn't get many breaks and showed a lot of maturity... then their lack of discipline and ball control (COACHING) let them down again. It's sad that those guys played so hard and lost.
  4. What is amazing to me is you know you have zero point guards and the three guys you sign in november are all frontline players. Now with the dismissal of Minor what will they do with that scholarship?

  5. umm each year is different. temple is playing poorly because he is out of position and uncomfortable. Thats obvious.

this team lacks anyone to lead them in the clutch besides glenn davis and they got him the ball. to blame his turnover on coaching is a joke. getting him the ball was the right thing and he screwed up. pretty simple.

LSU had 6 turnovers the second half and outrebounded ole myth 36-20.

you cannot teach composure. this team lacks it in crunch time. thats rather obvious.

if you want to blame the coach, blame him for not having a point guard. beyond that, the team plays hard. they arent very talented like many are led to believe simple because they went to the final 4 last year. that was in large part to 2 departed players. these players lack experience as a group.

taz and temple are only sophomores which is easily forgotten. As is rolle. 1+ years experience is still lacking experience no matter how badly you want to blame someone.
  6. Sign another big man of course.
Brady doesn't recruit guards but once every 4 or 5 years!
I suspect a good season next year since this season is going up in a blaze
    of glory.
The worse this season gets means the better next season is going to be
so lets lose every game this season and we can get a higher draft pick!
Wait a minute, I almost forgot that this is college Bball!

    Remember Lloreda's last year?
The next two years they turned things around.
  7. How many times does a coach have to say "DON't THROW THE BALL AWAY!" You have to assume with the time this team has had together that some things go without saying. Hell my son is 12 and knows that. Also...were any of you in the huddle when they wnet through the last minutes? Do you know what the team was told? If so let us know...

This team has lacked a point...and that is the glaring problem we've faced all season. There is a good article in the Sunday Advocate on the reasons why. So many games last season were just like this one...except the ball bounced our way. This team plays hard and it isn't fair the way fate has played it's ugly joke this season but to blame a coaching staff who put the team in the FF last season and has had this team fighting until the end in almost every game this season is just stupid.

For Glens sake I hope he plays one more year and gets that redemption for this season. There is no way we can have this kind of bad luck next season too.

  8. everyone blames luck... last year we were good... this year, we're not... luck isn't real...

last year wasn't a miracle season...last year they were disciplined and didn't make stupid mistakes like not blocking out with 13 seconds to go and having a small lead... or turning the ball over twice in a minute... I can't understand how you have davis in the backcourt taking the inbounds pass in the first place... why isnt voogd, mitchell, temple, martin, or someone else with the ability to dribble and pass in the backcourt... HOW DO YOU THINK THAT'S NOT COACHING!!!!?
  9. Ok, another heartbreaking loss, one that I didn't watch... you do have V-day duties after all...:hihi: But, after reading this thread I have a couple of things I just had to say.

First, I'm NOT defending Brady on tonight's result... again, didn't see the game I won't comment on the coaching in this game. 16 turnovers and otherwise we would have won the game. So, I guess many of you are blaming 16 turnovers on the... coach? Whatever, at some point, they say that players have to play the game and the coach has to put you in the position to make the plays... but that's not my point.

My only point on this post is that somehow this "riches to rags" scenario is somehow this "revelation" that all of the sudden Brady is a crappy coach. Last year he was a final four coach and this year he's crap and can't coach... The alarmist reaction needs to be tempered with some reality. Just doing some quick research shows the following coaches (and this is just a sample) who have made the NCAA tourney (actually done quite well too) one year and then "underachieved" the next year (NIT or nothing)...

    Jim Boeheim
    Gary Williams
    Skip Prosser
    Mike Davis

And this is just a quick sample. I guess my point is that everything can't be coaching and it can't all be Brady's fault--even if we were to miss a post season tourney, that in of itself is not coaching. Now perhaps it's just the Brady Bashers' time to shine, and honestly, as I've said all along I'm waiting until the end of the season to grade Brady. Brady has certainly not lived to expectations and he deserves criticism for that BUT, it's not so black and white. If failing to make the tourney or going to the NIT after a year making to the final four (which probably should have been more appreciated than it was last year) is a reason to fire someone, then I think you would have had to let each of these guys go above... all guys that either won it all or got the National Championship game. Were these guys all good coaches one year and then crappy the next?

It is sucky that "bad luck" seems to have hit this team this year (you count up the close games we've lost, and last year we won them... it's the way the ball bounces sometimes and sometimes leadership and maturity get you those wins), but we need to judge the overall performance of a coach on a body of work, how he's recruiting, what kind of program he's creating for his players, how hard his players are playing for him, etc., not just on whether a last second turnover leads to a loss.

:geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. KEEP THE FAITH.
  10. If this is satisfactory then keep Brady in place. A decent resume over 9 years but is it enough?
