I would trade the worst football (after game) traffic for what we all experienced today. drc, guess who was stuck in all of that traffic with everyone. Power trucks, utility trucks, etc etc. I was fuming mad sitting in it. Not because I had to wait longer to get home, but because I was obviously in an area which was not ready to handle the massive amount of people that is the LSU student body & faculty. To make things worse, my sister-in-law is in night school. She is a young woman and the class went until 9:00. She has to drive home in pitch dark conditions, through intersections that are chaotic. How ridiculous is that? Not a safe situation at all for her!
Thats what Im talking about Grad. Although I'm selfishly thinking about the game Saturday, even taking that event out of the equation you just don't put that kind of traffic on the road when it will clearly hinder repair efforts. There are WAY, WAY too many people still doing without and public safety is surely compromised by adding this unnecessary stress on public infrastructure. I know its a fine line balancing class schedules but weather days should have been put in. Thats a mistake that should be corrected in future fall schedules. I have a sinking feeling that Baton Rouge is not going to be ready for a game Saturday no matter what IKE does. Its even more sad that so many people are still suffering from this mess and I hope LSU deciding to re-open today isn't delaying their relief.
I don' care if I have to leave Friday morning and won't get home till sunday night. I WANNA SEE SOME DAMN STRONG FOOTBALL!!!!!!!! EDIT: WE HAVE LEFT THE NHC "SPHERE OF UNCERTAIN DOOM!"
