The running game will have to win it for us next week...but I truly believe it will. AU 3 MSU 2? Are you kidding me?? If we score double digits, we win, IMHO. I wound up listening to the second half on a local FM radio station up here in Denton...forgot N Tx was right up the road. Anyway, the local broadcasters were talking about how at least LSU got to see a spread tonight...since they're playing a Tony Franklin offense next week. Then they announced the AU/MSU score...
I'll join those and echo the concern about our QB situation...Neither has shown any ability to consistently throw the ball down the field and at least keep defenses honest so that our stable of RBs can run. As BAD, and I mean BAAAAAAAD, as Auburn looked tonight, their defense is legit. Jordan Hare will be loud as hell and I am worried about mistakes by these QBs. I know our O-line and RBs are leaps and bounds better than State, but State proved tonight that you can't JUST run the ball and beat Auburn. We have to be able to throw it and I haven't seen any consistency other than WR and HB screens. BTW...what's the word on Beckwith? What happened? I caught the sideline reporter talking about it but didn't hear what the injury was. What is it and how serious?
last I heard on the radio was that Beckwith has a sprained ankle, not too bad, and should be fine. Didn't say when he'd be fine, though,...ldskule:
I have to concur with everyone. Our QB's are not very good. I feel bad for Byrd and the boys you can tell they are frustrated. All that speed and we dont have a QB who can get them the ball. Again I am sure they are great kids and great Tigers, but when we go to the swamp or play Bama, Auburn, we will need to be able to stretch the field to have a chance. I assure EVERY team is going to put many in the box and force LSU to pass. Knowing we dont have a QB that can throw a ball more than 15 yards.
Thats not true! Lee threw one about 40 yards. Problem was we were on the 14 yard line and he slightly overthrew his receiver through the uprights.
very very low. we are extremely limited at qb and theres no way to disguise it. we will likely lose next week. auburn is jeckyl and hyde against us. we all know this. they always look like a different team when we play them there. and they have the refs obviously.
