This team is absolutely DESTROYING itself with penalties. And for all the talk about our "depth", the constant substitution patterns are contributing to a lot of penalties.
The Tigers were beat up and tired for this game. Kentucky played their butts off and just plain beat us. I'm really down about it - but we'll still be ok in the long run. ldskule:
STick around Coramprat - we'll need some of the regulars to keep this forum from melting down with all the negative vibes ldskule:
Wow, I enjoy your thoughts on why im wrong. Challenge anything I said with an intelligent argument and i will listen. I am merely stating my informed opinion. The loss sucks, but don't take it out on someone who is merely stating why we lost. Sorry pal:bncry:
I agree and what is even better the wildcats get to play the Gaytors next week. Talk about having yer ass handed to you! Tigers will bounce back. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!:geauxtige
People have found a way to spread our defense so we can't shut them down as much. I was hoping Pellini could scheme more but it's tough against a good QB like Florida and Kentucky have. We tend to overrun the play and leave the middle open for the pass or run. Flynn has been alright but his timing and distance have not been real good. Unfortunately he doesn't have any receivers that can make plays regularly unless the ball hits them in the hands....and then they still drop too many. Special teams (mainly kick & punt returns) has really been disappointing this year as I thought we would have much better field position with the speed and depth on this team. It just hasn't happened. We're still 6-1 and have beat some great teams. It's just unfortunate that Doucet's injury, stupid penalties, and dropped passes may have cost us a shot at the national title. I give a lot of credit to Kentucky but I don't think they would have had a chance had we continued running Charles Scott today. I'll blame that one on the coaches.
Well now we have more than one reason to root for Michigan and VT. I'm glad the lucky pants did not witness this....
Great game by UK but we had it coming. Flynn couldn't get the ball to the wr's and when he did they dropped the ball. Once again we hurt ourselves with stupid penalties. We haven't been the same team as our first 3 games now either MS and VT are that bad or we're not playing on the same level we were. I predict a loss to Auburn @ home if we play the way we've played the last 4 weeks. I'm really not taking anything away from Kentucky because they played well I just wish we would have.
I agree with everything you said except that we'll be okay in the long run. Miles is going to stick with Matt Flynn, and Matt Flynn is not a good quarterback. Not to mention he doesn't have any good receivers. LSU looked like a bad team today. And now everyone knows how to beat them. I'm not even mad. I'm simply resigned to a 3-loss season.
