    ESPN Insider says this:

    LSU offense vs. Georgia defense

    • Don't be surprised to see LSU open up the vertical passing game. WRs Brandon LaFell (6-foot-3, 206 pounds) and Terrance Toliver (6-5, 206) have a substantial size advantage over Georgia CBs Prince Miller (5-foot-8, 198 pounds) and Brandon Boykin (5-foot-10 185 pounds). In addition, both have the leaping ability and body control to come down with any jump balls downfield. Georgia safeties Reshad Jones and Bryan Evans are aggressive run-stoppers who are vulnerable to play-action and they will be tested by LSU, especially when the Tigers keep a tight end in to block.
    • Tigers RBs Charles Scott (234 pounds) and Keiland Williams (221) both have excellent speed for their size and can run over defensive backs in the open field, so it's important that Georgia's front seven prevent them from hitting the second level at full speed. The Bulldogs can clog the middle with 250-pound MLB Darryl Gamble playing behind a tough and deep defensive tackle unit, but OLBs Rennie Curran and Darius Dewberry can't get caught too far inside and must wrap up the legs of LSU's big backs.
    • The Tigers can attack a stout Georgia run defense in other ways as well, starting with QBs Jordan Jefferson and Russell Shepard. Jefferson is mobile and runs the option package and designed keepers well, and while Shepard isn't as polished as a passer he is a dangerous open-field runner who can make the first defender miss and hits top speed in a flash. Also look for the end-around with WR/RB Trindon Holliday, who is fast enough to go the distance when he gets a seam. Georgia must recognize personnel groupings, alignments and motions and then adjust accordingly
    Key individual matchup

Georgia QB Joe Cox vs. LSU FS Chad Jones
LSU will use Jones as a "robber," which means he will jump up in underneath coverage after lining up in a soft Cover 2 look. He is a ball hawk with good instincts and Cox must locate Jones before and after the snap, especially when looking for his tight ends or slot WR Michael Moore over the middle. Cox can't hang his receivers out to dry over the middle, either, and must check to the correct play when the 225-pound Jones creeps into the box. Jones is a sure tackler who can deliver the big hit in coverage and make plays in run support.
    Georgia offense vs. LSU defense

    • Not one member of LSU's starting back seven is shorter than 6 feet and that length shows up when the Tigers drop into zone coverage. Their defensive backs and linebackers extend their long arms and get their hands on the ball even when they are not in sound position. This obviously makes it tougher to locate a seam so QB Joe Cox's timing with his receivers, as well as his accuracy and zip on the ball, must be up to snuff this week.
    • Losing LOT Trinton Sturdivant to a season-ending knee injury forced Georgia to shuffle its offensive line and the unit still appears to be jelling. Relatively inexperienced RBs Richard Samuel, Caleb King and Carlton Thomas don't always make the most of their blocks, either. On the flip side, the Tigers are capable of controlling the line of scrimmage and forcing the young backs to make quicker reads. They have the size to clog up the middle and the quickness to string plays out to the sideline.
    • Keep an eye on the matchup between WR A.J. Green and CB Patrick Peterson, both of whom are true sophomores. At 6-1 and 211 pounds Peterson is capable of rerouting the 6-4, 207-pound Green and is fast enough to run with him downfield when that happens. Defensive coordinator John Chavis should help Peterson by playing him off the line and providing safety help over the top in most situations. Why? Green is quick enough to slip press coverage and fast enough to get behind Peterson when Peterson doesn't slow him down at the line. However, Peterson must tackle well when he gives Green a cushion because Green is a slippery open-field runner.
    Scouts' Edge

Mobile quarterbacks have given LSU's defense problems this year but the Tigers are built to slow down a pro-style running attack like the one Georgia runs. The LSU defense will consistently put Cox in situations with pass-heavy tendencies, which will allow the front four to fly upfield and Chavis to dictate the coverage. Cox will make some mistakes that open the door for LSU and the Tigers will take advantage. While a tough Georgia defense will help keep the score close, Jefferson's ability to create with his feet will allow LSU to sustain longer drives. In the end it will be enough for the Tigers to eke out another tough road win.
    Prediction: Tigers 24, Bulldogs 21

Les after the MSU game: 'The team better show up at Monday practice ready to work"

LSU coach Les Miles’ words were the kind no football player wants to hear.

    Especially after a win.

“The team better show up at home on Monday ready to work,” Miles said.
    ...
“When we play sloppy, we allow other teams to hang around,” Miles said. “We put out opponents in a great position when we make those mistakes like that. I’m glad to see our players rally late, but we cannot make mistakes like we did.”

Sloppy... has been Georgia. What are they... last in the nation in penalties... something like that... definitely the bottom three... they can't get out of their own way...

    .... LSU wins by 12.

Man, I've got to do all the work around here to build your confidence for the Georgia game.
... so I looked up the stats on Georgia's mission of making sure the opposing team has a real shot of beating them. First, they are third to last in most penalties... 314 total yards... that's 78.5 yards per game in penalties alone.

Then they throw in all their turnovers... they are three to the good and 12 to the bad, a whopping -9, 115th in the nation. LSU is 5th in the nation in t/o margin with a +7.

There is no way in hell Georgia can fix both problems in one game. I'm changing my prediction.... LSU by 14....
