That is exactly what we've done though. A few snaps in the Tulane game, then around 10 against Troy, a half against OM (albeit by injury, like you said), now he's starting. He has been slowly (and correctly) brought along.

glad to see our defense play better in the second qtr. Hope they can keep it up. i like scott up the middle and kw around the end. Half roll out for jj and hit the back side on a go pattern.
The way we had Hatch sharing duties with Lee early in the season I would consider "bringing him along". The Tulane game was a lost cause for Jefferson, he simply handed the ball off a few times. Not much of a confidence builder. They did try to play him vs Troy, and probably more so when Lee struggled so badly in the first 3 quarters.
