You are correct, but I had my hopes set so high to play Michigan, that anything else is considered a let down. It's like thinking you just won 100,000 in the powerball (not the jack-pot, but one hell of a consolation prize), only to be told "nevermind, here's a nickel"

i am so pumped to play ND. playing SC in a basic home game woulda been kinda gay but would have a kind of in your face potential for beating them at home. instead we play an overrated ND team and hopefully and likely blow them outta the water, in what is basically a home game for us.

my parents are looking into a flight for me right now. maybe theyll buy themselves a big screen TV like we did in 04 insteada going to the game. i keep tellin em we need two TVs in the same room.

oh and best of all, this means i dont have to go to the rose parade! yes, that was going to be boring as hell and i would have missed out on early games.

The only good thing to come out of the USC loss is that they will not be playing in the NCG.

I think we're lucky to be where we are. Don't get me wrong - our guys deserve it, but - as has been stated on here previously - we didn't even win the Western division of the SEC. I, too, was salivating over the possibility of going to California, but the familiar surroundings of the 'Dome aren't terrible.

And won't it be fun to put a whoopin' on the Irish the way we did a few years in the Independence Bowl? (Y'all remember that, right?)

I still want the chance to play USC! Maybe next year we can expose them for the girls that they are.

    On the personal side..

My brother-in-law is a freshman in the Tiger Band and his parents were beside themselves with the possibility of seeing their son in the Parade of Roses. They traded in Marriott points for the plane tickets/hotels... so I think they can cancel with little or no penalty, but still

Rose bowl would've been sweeter than sugar

Wow, I can't even imagine wanting a USC loss more than a chance for LSU vs. Michigan. I wondered why so many people were saying we should be hoping for a USC loss. I knew all along that absolutely nothing good could come from a USC loss. Now, all the games will be inferior to what they could have been. Florida is the only winner in all this....at least until they are down by 20.
