i wasnt trying to support lumpy's argument. i was replying to a post saying lsu fan support didnt wane in the dark days. going from 80K avg to 60K avg is waning. better than almost any other place would be under the same conditions, but still waning.
so you went way out on a limb to state you weren't exactly sure when or how but basically anything short of winning a NC in hoops so you could dredge up this old post to say you were right? every team who fails to win it all will disappoint on some level. that's possibly the weakest attempt I have ever seen at someone actually thinking they 'told you so'. here's your sign.
The story here is not my comments, it is the fact that it happened yet again. Afterall, I'm just one of the majority of people who feel the same way. I'm not a bandwaggoner, I gave Brady a chance for 5 years..the last 3 or so I've been convinced he cannot motivate/teach his players. It was because of his harsh nature and berrating attitude - after the Houston loss the entire team bucked up at him and told him to his face what an ass he was. You'll notice how much more mellow he's been since then, and how the team responded. I don't know why they laid down against UAB, but it is just the latest in a long line of disappointments. Losing is not the disappointment, losing by 30 (wasn't the final margin, but should have been) to a #11 seed is. I don't even blame Brady for the first half...they kids played poorly, but there is no excuse for the lack of improvement (in fact they digressed) in the 2nd half. I gave him 5 years, there is no more room for him in my heart heh. And yea, I went out on a limb, I've been out on it for 3 years publicly...but there were 10,000 people out there with me.
LOL, you're right...especially if it happens anytime prior to the Tennessee game this year. I don't care if a team like Az St. was on a 22 game winning streak and ranked #1 coming to Baton Rouge, LSU and fans of powerhouse SEC programs would be angry losing to (voice dripping with disgust) "a Pac-10 team".
Prediction: At some point, Brady will point out that LSU lost to UAB in football (if he hasn't already).
