Kinda insulting to Reggie Bush, a Heisman Trophy finalist, don't you think??? No disrespect to Skyler either, he's talented in his own rights, but there isn't anyone more electifying that Reggie Bush. As a receiver, yes, Skyler could match Bush's receiving stats, if given the opportunity, and put in the right places by the offensive coordinator. But Bush doesn't just catch passes--he can score 80-yard TD's rushing, receiving, and by running over people in the process. Skyler won't be doing any running over.....and if he does, I'd hate to see the midget on defense that got in his way.
And good thing about Robinskie is that it's pretty obvious, that after 23 years of being an assistant coach in the NFL, he probably won't be getting a head coaching gig there. Being an LSU man, this may be his dream job without even knowing it. He would definately be dedicated to LSU (i.e. if he continued to win, I doubt we'd have to be watching over our shoulders the way we do now).
Terry Robiski is a prime example of an African American not getting a shot at a head coaching job in the NFL. 23 years with the Raiders, Redskins, and the Browns and he doesn't even get a whiff at a chance. I know people want a coach with Head Coaching experience, but Robiski's skills are unquestioned, just as Sylvester Croom's is. All I am saying is that maybe, just maybe, he and few others (who have 20 plus years in the NFL) should be examined. It's mostly an unmined territory filled with men waiting to show the world what they can do.
"There is no question in my mind about effort. I don’t see a lack of effort. I think the effort that’s there is unbelievable. I just believe we’ve got to be a smarter football team. " – Terry Robiski This is right after the blizzard game today in Cleveland. There's a video clip of his press conference on the Brown's official website. It's a bit grainy, but it might be worth a look see. http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/ :thumb:
I want a coach that we have to worry about leaving for the NFL as a head coach. It means we are winning and we have such a good coach that NFL teams want to hire him from a college team. Plus, if we lost two head coaches in a row to the NFL, other coaches would be beating down our door because this would be a feeder school for NFL coaches. So we only keep a coach for five years. That is the average that teams keep a coach for anyway. The odds of getting a Paterno or Bobby Bowden are slim. A coach is either good enough to get an offer and wants to test his skills or he is not and LSU eventually fires him or he is just good enough not to get fired. I want a coach that the NFL is trying to hire.
Forget Dan Reeves. The only way he considers the LSU opportunity is if they move to Atlanta (family concerns).
It's very likely that the reason he hasn't been hired as a head coach in the past 23 years is his race. The fact he has no head coaching experience is, for me, not an issue.
Norm Chow would probably be high on my uneducated list. I like the Norm Will duo. BUT I haven't given on up Saban sticking around yet.
I would hope that it was a scheduled week end drill for the LA. national guard. Cause they probably would work the game.
