Solomon Thomas - 5-star IOL who's verbal to FSU, but rumors say he's unhappy with recent changes in their coaching staff, and could be a surprise flip our way. Signing scheduled later this afternoon.
Well the sky isn’t falling after-all. We are currently ranked #8 by both On3 and 247. Losing Underwood & Phillips hurt, both in the end they both stayed in their home states. The ones that chap me are the loss of La. guys Stewart to USC and Harper to Ole Miss.
I have a hard time understanding the logic in making the team rankings. Both On3 and 247 have Michigan and Auburn ranked above LSU. Auburn has 25 commits while Michigan has 23 (same as LSU)..But if you focus on the # of 5* and 4* players (using On3 #s) LSU has 3+16 = 19, Mi. has 2+14 = 16, and Aub. has 1+14 = 15. Go figure. BTW, only 3 teams have more 5* & 4* signees. Ga. = 24, Ohio St. = 20 and Oregon = 19. If you you use 247’s numbers only Ga. & Ohio State have a higher # of 5* and 4* recruits than LSU. Definitely not a precise science.
The focus of team rankings is on the players' grades, not star rating. Not all 5 stars are equal, and so on.... I think our class is very good; top ten, so obviously. But while I don't like being the eternal pessimist, I also think this class has to be judged by the guys that got away...Underwood, Moore, Phillips, Antoine, Meadows, Harper, Stewart. But even moreso, there's the in-state factor. By on3's ratings, we only got 5 of the top 10 LA players, 11 of the top 20. Unacceptable. Saban, Miles and Orgeron all won NC's with the recruiting philosophy of locking down the state. We have to get back to that. Edit: I should acknowledge that in the current on3 ratings for the 2026 class, Louisiana has one 5 star and ten 4's. LSU already has verbals from 4, and solidly leads for all but the lowest ranked of the 4's.
Yeah fuck him! He chose the $$ and in the end it will bite him in the ass. USC is garbage, Riley will not be there to see the end of his college career. He will flame just like the program he whored himself out to.
