I wanted to come here to mention Bravion Rogers, too, seems to be a lot of smoke around him. Getting either him or Javien Toviano would be huge. And I think you are dead on with the first part of that quote. Kelly already seems to be light years ahead of Ed on roster management. We have had a ton of top 5 classes in years past, but no OL for example. Yep, you can sign over 25, just have to be under the 85 limit. I'm not sure we will be at 85 this year, so likely we will sign over 25 in some combination of HS and transfers, though maybe not over 25 HS players. It will be interesting to see what Alabama does with this rule change because you know they will abuse it in every way they can.
I am liking the CBK hire more as the year progresses and that he is a system guy similar to Saban. His recruiting is not just focused on gathering a collection of high star players. As coach Kelley’s system demands individual accountability from the players, I believe that his roster management has focused on bringing in players who both meet position needs and who of have high character.
We had an outside shot, but most thought he was going to Texas. So Tennessee was a little bit of a surprise.
Khai Prean announcement set for tonight at 6pm. Zalance Heard sets announcement date of September 1st. Both are heavy leans to LSU, and with both, that would put us at 283.50 with 22 commits in the 247 composite, which would be good for 5th as it stands now. DJ Chester, Bravion Rogers, and Nyckoles Harbor are the biggest guys to watch for us right now. I think Chester and Rogers are very likely, but still hard to know about Harbor. I'd guess he's a slight lean to LSU at this point. It appears we have pivoted from Javien Toviano to Bravion Rogers, so Toviano is trending toward A&M now. All those guys minus Harbor would put us at 292.67 points, or 6th best LSU class all time. Include Harbor and it jumps to 299.59, which would be our highest rated class ever.
