1. To the delight of skirts everywhere.
  2. My point exactly. It was a milk toast speech. Very low-key as it applies to Obama. Very mediocre. However, I do suspect that most of her delegates that have indicated they are not happy with Obama (about 30%) will come around by the time of the vote and support him. The question is will they and the millions of other Hillory supporters around the country will vote for him in November?
  3. No. I knew they were in Syria.

No because Obama has a better chance of winning the election than ND has of winning 11 games.
  4. I'm talking solely about controlling the messages coming out of the convention. All the stories about Hillary's sour grapes, Bill's being upset about the speech topic and not getting credit for the 90's, etc. I'm just stating from a distance that I am sure that the Dems are wishing that they could get control of the rumor mill. I agree with what you are saying, I am speaking strictly about the extracurricular activities.
  5. She gave a good speech in a technical fashion but she didn't do much to fire up the crowd for Obama. She referred to her husband only once and Obama in only an abstract way. She protected herself very well in the event that Obama loses. She has not given up on the presidency at all. No doubt, there will be fireworks tonight because of Bill.

It's a pity she is so devoid of charisma(unlike hubby), and Obama is brimming with it, but doesn't seem to have much else. I am still scratching my head that he was the best the dems could offer up. He didn't even complete 1/2 of one term in the Senate before he runs for pres? No executive experience to speak of. I just wonder what the dems are thinking.

But by the same token, the repubs have me scratching my head as well. Where is the leadership of tomorrow? Even if McCain were a visionary, he won't last 12 years, so where is the future?

    What a bizarre election.
  6. I've come to believe that men made out of presidential timber often don't want the public glare of the modern presidency and succeed in things other than politics. Politics is filled with men of big ego, not of big benevolence.
  7. The truth is that most of your best presidents spent their lives in the public sphere.
