and bonderman is only 23 i think.

yeah humber was picked after verlander. not sure if anyone knows or cares but our new pitching coach, terry rooney, is the guy who got verlander to go to old dominion. rooney was there before going to notre dame. he is a great evaluator of pitching talent and a great recruiter.

Don't forget Fernando Rodney....he was actually being groomed as their closer until they got Jones in the offseason. He ain't too shabby either.

If Verlander develops a straight change, he will be up there with Santana as the 2 most dominating starters in all of baseball.

His only problem now is he is basically a 2 pitch pitcher. Not many starters survive long term with 2 pitches (Nolan Ryan is one of the few exceptions).

I would like to see the Padres fire Bochy right in the middle of the playoffs. His team looks stupid.

This just in, Pujols with another ribbie against Padres in playoffs.

Jeff Weaver is up for the Cy Young this year, isn't he?

Oh no, my bad, he's just going up against the Padres lineup is all. Losers.

martin probably needed to hear about him as well especially given hes a member of the crooked hat club.

verlander often has problem with his curve and his change is non-existent. I thought the same thing. hes a smart dude and pretty unflappable so all he needs is time. you'd be wrong to overlook liriano who has the best stuff even moreso than santana but i have no hope he will ever stay healthy. thats why the giants had forgotten about him when they traded for that pierzynski dude.

didnt i just warn him beforehand?

if i remember correctly, in "moneyball" the stathead billy beane contingent argued that bonderman was a massive bust waiting to happen, because he was all tools and no numbers. it was a point of contention betwixt scouts, who loved him, and number geeks who hated him. looks like the scouts might have been a littl more right.

all of the coolest players in baseball are either:

    1: side-hatters
    2. japanese
    3. cliff floyd

if floyd wore his hat sideways and was part jap, he would head straight to the HOF.
