"According to public records, Alabama paid the former USC head coach $2,916.67 last month. That works out to about $35,000 a year.......Alabama hired Sarkisian for the advisory role in September. He made $2,651.62 for working part of the month. Sarkisian can’t coach players on the field because of NCAA limits on staff size, but the job provided a path back to football after USC fired him" http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-sarkisian-alabama-pay-20161101-story.html H...A...D...E...N. Absolutely nothing I said has to do with Haden or what he said about the situation. Everything is on video or in written contract. Sarkisian had a serious alcohol problem....long before he came back to USC. You should see the receipts for booze that he paid for in Seattle when he and the coaches went out "for lunch". He lied about it to get the job. He continued drinking and drugging and claiming it was an "accident". He cussed like a sailor at Salute To Troy....it's on video. He was under the influence at a presser where he tried to explain his "accidental" state of mind at Salute....it's on video. He failed to show up at work/practice. That's a part of the official record. He was put on waivers so to speak after Salute and agreed to certain behavioral conduct and medical assessment. He confirmed that on video. He disappeared for at least 2 days. USC legal counsel confirmed they were unable to get a response from him. He tweeted from "rehab"....that's a no-go for any legit rehab. He got fired. That's a fact jack. He sued USC. Just ask his attorney. Well, you should. He is a pathetic excuse as a man or a leader. I wouldn't want my kid to play for him. I wouldn't begin to trust him until he had a minimum of 2 years sobriety. If he gets that level job, better hire him a sober partner. They make a lot of money out here. This is funny. Your opinion is that Lane, at 41, is only being kept in check by Nick Saban? What does he do.....follow Lane home? Smack his hand if tries to grab some? At some point, Lane's balls are going to outgrow Nick's hands.
It might not be bad sources. With coaches and agents in search of a better job it's often the self serving bad information that is intentionally fed to rhe sources. While extremely entertaining, these rumors are much more often false rather than true.
Total speculation but it wouldn't surprise me if there is a handshake on something like this. He was officially named associate head coach in his new contract so there may be something to this line of thinking.
Here's my two cents: AIN'T NO FUCKING WAY Orgeron offered Sarkisian a job, and the poster from Alabama who says so is either an utter fool or a propagator who thinks WE are utter fools.
Well then........Dave Aranda is just as much of a defensive guru/genius as Tom Herman is an offensive guru/genius. Either will need a guru on the opposite side of the football to compliment and be successful. Trust me I know having both would have been sweet. More of a ramble really......................but When the news was being released all throughout the A&M game that Herman was our next coach, my dad said something that made worry a little about the Herman hire. He said that Tom Herman just doesn't bring the "hard nose nasty toughness" that LSU Football is known for. Win or Lose, when you leave Baton Rouge you know you were in a drag out dog fight, I'm not sure Herman would have sustained that here. His teams seem to be built on smoke and mirrors with gimmicky offenses built to hide flaws and that when they get stopped, the team turns to panic. Yes, Its hard to argue with his wins over Florida State and Oklahoma (Louisville wasn't that impressive to me).......but it's also hard to argue his losses against UConn, Memphis, Navy and SMU where he just flat-out looked out matched and out coached. Lets not forget how well Charlie Strong did in the AAC (USA).........he was 23-3 his final 2 years and had a big win over Florida in the Sugar Bowl just like Herman. Herman was not a sure thing by any stretch.
Only thing on Sark I have heard was that Les was turned down by him. We haven't even reached out for him as an analyst since O has been HC.
The two biggest mistake I made in life that I wish could go back and change is; 1. Wish I would have taken better care of my teeth 2. Wish I had listened more to older folks. Your dad is a wise man.
