Mr. Southlake Carroll didn't have too good a showing at UNT did he.. Pretty tough mountain to scale though.
When Kiffin was hired at TN, he brought in his father Monte Kiffin to be DC and Chavis was let go. I think LSU hired him within 5 days.
I would like to see a young up and coming NFL guy who is more in tune with what Les Miles wants to do. Someone who wants a pro style NFL power running game with play action passing. Good use of the TE and the occasional use of the Wild Cat with either Shepard or Ware. I just think that having a symbiotic relationship between the OC and Miles is best for the program.
We all just need to sit back and wait. We will all know within the next 48 hrs. I don't think anyone will be surprised, but I don't think it will lite a fire under anyone either. The person has been mentioned by several.
David Shaw, OC, Stanford If he doesn't end up with the 49ers and doesn't end up as the next coach of Stanford (not likely), then I hope this is the guy we end up getting. Balanced attack, obviously knows how to work with QBs and have them flourish (see Andrew Luck).
FYI, Bruce Feldman of ESPN tweeted that LSU will be looking OUTSIDE the program for it's new OC. So Gonzales is out of the running, thank God.
and this folks, is a prime example of a person who trusts ESPN despite everything. what a sad world we live in.
Dammit, we lost our shot at Shaw. Moving on. I am happy to see Stanford reward him like that, although it does come as a bit of a surprise.
