Krag mentioned this when he was hired. He has a system where the pre-snap reads are crucial. WRs also make checks based on the defense too and change routes accordingly. I know they started to install this but I don't think WRs do this every play yet. It might have taken another season to get everyone comfortable and not sure if we will get there now with Krag's illness.
Hopefully Krag will be able to help out for a few more years if only in a limited role. It's apparent his system has been successful. Stud's doing a good job but I wonder how much of it is him and how much Krag is helping him out.
I have no clue what is going to happen but heard there is a possibility out there that Krag could get an athletic department job at the end of the season. Guess it will depend on how Krag feels.
If Krag luvs what he's doing, he should stay at it. Give the meds a chance. Parkinson's is not like Alzheimers .... it is mainly a cerebellum disease involving dopamine and movement .. not cognition, at least until the latter stages where dimentia can occurr. I think he still has a lot go give to this offense, and a lot to give to the up and comming kids playing QB. He may be a little jerky and querky, but he can still review and advise. I personally hope he stays at what he is apparently great at.
I'm hoping that his health holds out, that he wants to continue coaching QB's and that he is able to do so. Lee has improved more in one off season than any QB on the team has over the last 4 seasons combined. I'd like to see how far Mett and the other youngsters can go with a few years under his guidance. However if an athletic dept job is what's best for him and his family i hope he gets it.
Evidence shows that stress can make the symptoms permanently worse which is the risk Coach Krag and his family will have to decide.
In that case I wish him the best. There's no doubt he would be under stress. Even just up in the booth at games. Bhelm do you think we keep Stud at OC after this season or go after a more proven OC?
What a great question. I like what Stud/Krag have done this year, but I'm not sold on Stud as an OC on his own. He's definitely learning a lot from Krag, but I would feel better if we had a more proven OC. That said, you know how Les is loyal to a fault (and I love that about him because I'm the same way), so it's doubtful he makes .a change unless he has to.
