It is the point if you advocate continuing those failed policies or doing nothing at all. If you cannot abide Obama's plan, where is the alternate plan? Our premiums are rising at an unsustainable rate.

Wait a minute. Are you saying that your homeowners insurance is higher because your insurance company is paying out for the uninsured? What company does that and why do you use them?

It is the point. Something has to be done, and the republicans did nothing when they had the chance.

I'm not saying Obama's plan is the exact right thing to do. I'm just saying something has to be done. Health insurance is getting too expensive of some people, even the responsible ones. And there are some lower income people who are responsible.

I'd rather drive a dented car than to destroy it. And I suggested that something does need to be done beginning with tort reform.

It's some sort of pool that we (homeowners) all pay into in the form of higher HO premiums to replenish what the state spent on the uninsured after the hurricanes. I don't know what it's called.

You are correct, but its got to be the right thing...and it doesn't have to be so rushed. Just caught a blurb on the radio and don't have names or details. But the gist was, the plan is a thousand pages long. One of the GOP on the committee that has the plan now asked for a one-week deferment to give everyone a chance to read what they'll be voting on. The Dem committee chair said no, he wants a vote today. It's the stimulus plan all over again.

Correct, but that doesn't mean implementing an even worse idea in the name of "change" just to say you did something. The fact that the slimy little dems want to rush it through without time for it to be read is all you need to know to determine that it stinks.

Why don't we see the same sense of urgency when it comes to the national debt? In my opinion the national debt is more of a crisis than health care. The interest alone on the national debt is approaching the amount of the entire military budget. It's just mind boggling. The apathy towards it from this administration even more mind boggling. If the democrats want to raise taxes on the rich to pay for universal health care then who are they going to tax to start paying off the national debt? How are we going to get a handle on the projected budget deficits?

it is not urgent because it will take forever to fix. besides the best way to fix it (besides scrapping medicare and social security) is to get the economy roaring.
