I'm not sure what you want from me. I'm speaking in factual terms but I don't have numbers. Hell, how about Obama giving us some damn numbers instead of some bullsh!t about how he wants to ease the peoples' pain.

Man, someone at sometime in the past must have really done a number on you. Big insurance ,other than AIG, has gotten nothing from the Feds. But, this is not about TARP. It's about Obama and his cronies trying to tear apart a system which 70% of Americans would rather keep as is than go down his path. You advocate doing something...anything, but for now, the status quo will do just fine until a plan that 1. is affordable in context of the federal deficit and 2. is spelled out in plain language so we know exactly what is being foisted upon us, is put out there.

okay, what the hell, throw the 9 million back in. 92% if all of them can't afford coverage which is ridiculous.

You know red, we can make determinations and ideas without having a study or exact info. Estimating is not the devil, it's not making up statistics.

I wonder where those people live, and if they could be enough of a factor to make sure key electoral states vote a certain way. Nah, that could not have anything to do with this.....

Ok how about a real problem instead of just numbers.

I am on workers comp right now because of my knee I go back to the doctor on Aug 20th on that day he might tell me that I have to have a knee replacement surgery. If this is the cause then I cant go back to work..my long term disability ends in August which means my insureance ends in August.

My wife is 28 years old and has the back of an 80 year old because of the degenreative problems she got from her dad which in term got his problems from disposing of Agent Orange. A better way to describe her back is...Right now the FDA is allowing disc replacements on a trial bases they only allow 2 per person..the nerosurgeon we see said she would need 8 to make a difference...there are 10 MAJOR things that can go wrong with your spine...she has 8..she has never broken her back and she doesnt have cancer.

There isnt an insurance company out there that will touch her...so for her to be able to stay on the pain pills she needs i might not be able to get the surgery i need and go back to work and suck it up!

how in the hell is this fair in anyway?

Didn't you hurt your knee while on active duty? The first part which isn't fair is the deplorable treatment of our veterans who often are treated as photo ops for politicians.

nope hurt my knee at work.

And your right about that last statement.

The man that lives next to my parents needs a heart treatment but the ONLY VA hospital that does it is in Houston...however the local hospital North Oaks does the treatment...VA refuses to pay for him to have it here..and his doctor has told him he proably wont survive that long of a road trip

Sorry to see you hung up in the system. See post #61 on the top of page 5 and read it through. You will see all is subordinated to the stock price of the insurance companies. That will get us great care for the 90% of the country that is well, good to great care for the sick that have first class ins. at a major corporation, and a good chance you're screwed if you are not in that class. That's why I think we need health care reform. The system is designed to optimize the stock price of the companies.

I'n not a work comp expert but wouldn't you be entitled to a settlement and medical for, at least, the knee into the future.

Was this accident solely your fault or was there some 3rd party involvement (I'm sure you've addressed all of this but I'm curious)?

id guess the best thing to do is for your wife to get a job with a company that provides group insurance. i dont think they ever consider preexisting conditions.

    or move to another country

Health Insurance and Health Care are goods and services that cost money. Not to mention a business, which for some reason some people don't like.

While some circumstances are unfortunate and unfair that is the name of the game with the cards one is dealt.

As ******* as that may sound it is the truth whether I or you like it or not.

Creating some sort of public plan that passes one person's cost onto another is creating yet another unfortunate and unfair system.
