although many more people are qualifying for medicare nowadays, 10% was whacked from the system to pay for half of obamacare. 500+ billion. estimates began as half a trillion, then a trillion now estimated 1.6 trillion for socialized care. thats from the cbo. so we can assume at least double that cost once its implemented. this bureaucracy which will be formed to determine the costs of this plan--procedures, medicines, etc--wont be determined until after the bill passed. the costs, that is for each. meaning a blank check for the government. the one private companies will be competing with. the other half will be funded by taxes. which will be 2/3rds or so once it gets to 3 trillion or so.
Which is EXACTLY what we warned against when this knuclehead was running. Take a good look all you ef'rs that voted this clown into office. We told you socialism was coming but "OH NO, there is no way he could be a socialist" Uh huh, sure!
pretty sure its getting clearer for most even if its hard to stomach. but its best to admit it now before passing this crap thru that generations cant pay for. glad i dont have any kids i know about it. since when is overbloated bureaucracy mean efficiency and reform? thats right, never. its very clear what this is.
"...if somebody told you that there is a plan out there that is guaranteed to double your health care costs over the next 10 years, that's guaranteed to result in more Americans losing their health care, and that is by far the biggest contributor to our federal deficit, I think most people would be opposed to that. Well, that's status quo. That's what we have right now. So if we don't change, we can't expect a different result. And that's why I think this is so important, not only for those families out there who are struggling, and who need some protection from abuses in the insurance industry, or need some protection from skyrocketing costs, but it's also important for our economy." -- Barrack Obama 7/22/09
Tell me what is "socialism" in this health care proposal? We get the same doctors, the same insurance companies, and the same hospitals that we have now. You get to escape the VA and pick your own doctors, too. And you voted for Palin? :insane:
the private sector cannot compete with a govt printing up money and artificially setting prices not only for themselves but for private industry as well. this unknown, yet to be determined bureaucracy is going to be judge and jury for everything in this industry now. do you not think this is a problem or do you just whistle along knowing the federal govt will do whats in the best spirit of industry and patient?
"I've also pledged that health insurance reform will not add to our deficit over the next decade, and I mean it. In the past eight years, we saw the enactment of two tax cuts -- primarily for the wealthiest Americans -- and a Medicare prescription program, none of which were paid for. That's partly why I inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit. That will not happen with health insurance reform. It will be paid for." -- Barrack Obama 7/22/09
outright lie. the cbo reported 5 days ago it was an expansion of the federal government and an increase in the deficit. thats why obama met with the cbo yesterday. the truth is ruining his support, hence the rush to slam it through; better known as political expediency.
That's not the type of rhetoric I wanted to hear. Yes, Red, something needs to be done to curb the cost of healthcare. We know that. What is the plan? What change are we going to implement to make costs more affordable? How much is it going to cost? How are we going to retain medical professionals by reducing HC costs? Is tort reform part of the plan? Obama gave us no answers. He only gave us the same political BS we've been hearing since he began running for office. Regular doses of Kool-Aid aren't going to fix anything. But BO's silver tongue has ole Red marching in lockstep.
